The sun is hot, the sea is warm and the beer ice cold. And the waitress is very attentive. What a great place to relax. Locals and foreigners all come here for the experience. Walking along the seaside you may be lucky to see small fishing boats arrive, coming from fishing with their catch. Eager buyers await the arrival on...

I returned to Lakka wondering whether the Ebola crisis would have affected the Island and was delighted to rediscover the sheer delight of staying on this small island overlooking the stunningly beautiful beach. This is not a 5 star hotel but it does deserve a 5 star rating. The rooms offer a good sized double bed with en suite but...

We used to spend every weekend in Freetown either at River number two, at Lakka or on the Banana Islands. You can get a more renote Sierra Leonean beach experience but you can't beat Lakka for that Graham Greene combination of Lebanese, African and ex-pat decadence. The breakers are great for body-surfing. The water is as warm as a bath...

I briefly stayed here on holiday from my mission in Sierra Leone for Doctors Without borders. The nature of our work is very exhausting so this little gem was the absolute best medicine!!! Friendly host and waiters, good easy clean facilities. For lunch .... Grilled Baracuda or Grilled Lobster! Mouthwatering aromas as they grill on an open fire, mixed with...

This is a short drive from Freetown and a perfect location for a short break. The views of Lakka beach from the verandah are exhilerating. The owner, Jason, is a hell of a nice guy and goes out of his way to be helpful. Don't go there if you are expecting perfection - it's not that kind of place. But...

We stayed for a short holiday. We booked well in advance and called couple of times to confirm the room and dinner. But wehn we arrived, we were told that they did not know about it and the rooms were not organised for us. So we had to stay until hey did prepare the rooms. They were also not aware...

Lakka Beach is easily accessible so this resort is excellent for a quick weekend break. It's great for an early morning jog. The resort is not really an island but is perched on some rocks on one end of the beach. Don't let this put you off though, it is sufficiently isolated and falling asleep to the sound of waves...
