Detailed Reviews
We were walking the GR 46 and stopped here overnight, to have an easy day between Cordes and Castelnau. It turned out that there was no place open for dinner that night, so Helen whipped up an excellent four course dinner featuring salad, quiche lorraine, good cheeses and Eton mess. The bedroom was lovely and spacious. There is also a terrace where she served us a local violet-infused aperitif. We also got much useful info from her extensive collection of maps and guides to the region.

Myself and my two teenage daughters, have just had a 3 night stay at Les Heures Claires. The rooms are immaculate, spacious with en-suite facilities. Toiletries and robes, and towels are provided. The breakfast choice is amazing, with fresh bread, croissant, jams and homemade muesli every morning, plus drinks of all types. Helene is a superb host who is bilingual and totally welcoming and friendly and she goes the extra mile to ensure your complete satisfaction. Very Highly Recommended establishment is a totally tranquil village.

You will be sure of a warm welcome at this guest house. There are only two double/twin rooms, but Helène will ensure that you have a comfortable and happy stay. The meals are carefully planned and,in accordance with french hospitality standards, include aperitifs and wine at dinner time. The evening meal includes three courses plus cheese.
The area is within easy driving distance from Toulouse, and we were able to do several local walks with the aid of excellent walking guides prepared locally. Our host is a keen walker, and will advise on various walks in the area. You won't find a lot of tourists nearby, and this adds to its appeal if you want to enjoy this part of France.

We had to cut short our long hike on the GR to Toulouse, and stayed a night in Hélène's home. What a wonderful stay we had! Our room was lovely, with rocking chair, view of the church in the village square, and an ensuite bathroom with large tub to luxuriate in after a long day's hike. The bed, with its heating pad was extremely comfortable. But most notable was the warm "accueil" of our hostess, and the conversations we had over our excellent apéritif, dinner and abundant breakfast. The entire experience was a perfect note on which to end our hike. Thank you, Hélène, for opening your home to us, we will definitely return.

Took my wife and two kids here for a few days and found a delightful place that a thoroughly recommend. Lovely and comfortable rooms including a big bed and lovely pillows. Once the shutters are quiet, there is no noise and no light - you will sleep like a dream. Food was excellent and the owner was delightful - knowledgeable about the local area and keen to please. Overall, very much recommended.

My wife and I were recently house-hunting in Midi-Pyrenees, spending two lovely days with Helene at Les Heures Claires. She was so attentive and generous with her time, giving us lots of excellent information about the region. Helene has restored this beautiful old house with loving care, totally in sympathy with the feel of the village, earning local respect in the process. The 2 rooms are tastefully decorated, well lit and furnished, with superb, ultra-modern en-suite facilities. Electric blankets were a very pleasant surprise. Toiletries and other consummables are very good quality. Dinner, as others have said, is in french style, freshly prepared by Helene who is an excellent cook - no freezer and microwave here - as well as a great conversationalist, in english or french. Breakfast was also of the highest standard, healthy, plentiful and varied. We would love to return again and again.
The village is small but well formed, having all the essential shops and facilities, including an excellent "delicatessen" selling local and specialist produce. There is also a delightful auberge, just a few yards from the house, serving local food to local people at very reasonable prices. Sunday lunchtime found it packed with villagers enjoying their meal, drinking the local Gaillac wine, produced and sold by a number of the diners. Fabulous!
