For the past years, I've made it a point to visit france as much as I could. For reasons I cannot explain, I've limited myself to Paris and the north. Little did I know that there is just so much more for us to see. This chateau is a jewel in the Auvergne region. A part of France that is... More

This is an incredible place. We felt like we were stepping back into time -- and treated like royalty -- while still having modern amenities of working toilets, electricity and WIFI. Gorgeous rooms, lovely well-maintained gardens, incredible room, wonderful staff. Perfection for those who like history.

If you want to enjoy a genuine historical ambiance and care less about modern conveniences this is your place. If on the other hand you expect the state of the art in your room and facilities you are most likely to be disappointed. you might have to put up with a lot of inconvenience which was alluded to in other... I have stayed and dined with my family (wife and two teenagers) and two friends at this wonderful castle of the Royal Bourbon Family. We liked it a lot. The French parc and the outdoor pool are amazing. Do not expect nowadays luxury and perfection, but do expect an experience in a historic French castle with some important weaknesses and... More

its a place of repose and authentic private experience of the beauty of mansion, of large gardens and of the park built in 13- 15 -17centuries. The building is magnificent, the food and the chef is of the quality. There are no annoying services and commercialism where everything is manicured to the last details and which may put off some... We booked for two nights at Busset, which was at mid range in our trip from very south west France to very north east. We arrived very late after a long road. Even if we were welcomed, we can't say it was a warm one...Taken to our room by a staircase that cannot be taken by oldest people, or even... More

My wife and I stayed at the Château de Busset for two nights and we enjoyed it very much. They have a new chef, which prepared surperb dinners for us. The pool is clean, the new service very nice and forthcoming, the room we stayed at was clean and romantic. The owner was very nice, talkative and showed us around... More

We stayed here for one night on our honeymoon- and we treated it like an adventure as it was a very strange experience! It was deserted when we arrived and eventually the owner greeted us from the balcony. He gave us some champagne and left us there to watch the sunset which was beautiful but the balcony was old and... More

An absolutely stunning chateau, we fell in love with the place immediately. A magnificent building, both externally and internally, with formal grounds to match. It is a little shabby in places which just gives it even more appeal for us and great charm. Our room was delightful and a splendid surprise was finding a 'hidden' panel in one wall which... More

Breathtaking castle! A real experience to sleep here. The rooms are huge, prettely decorated but do not expect any extras. Furniture is basic. Our room had a standing bath no seperate shower or curtain but the barhroom was big enough not to spray the walls with water. Dinner was excellent, a set menu but still very good quality. Breakfast was... More
