We have visited the Lochnell a few times when staying at North Ledaig. Menu not huge but food was good, fish and chips was really tasty and very quick service. Enjoyed our meal thanks and a lovely setting with great views.

Ate here 2 years ago and it was not good but my husband wanted to try it again. The menu was not large and struggled to find something. I decided salad safe option, big mistake, it was chicken with black pudding with sweet chilli sauce. It arrived with ample chicken and salad but absolutely drowned in HOT chilli sauce. This resulted in salad being extremely soggy and inedible. Black pudding was not cooked and chopped into it. It should have been crispy. Chilli sauce so hot owner realised I was struggling and offered a glass of milk! Which suggests that others might have been surprised. All sweet chilli I have had in past is mild. Luckily I ordered a plate of chips. So for my main meal I had chips and a glass of milk costing £14. So two bad meals on a trot and despite saying I thought meal awful they charged me for the priviledge. Will not be going back for round 3 dire food. Service was fine.

A 5 night stay to bag Munros - this hotel is a great base. The hotel is really well run, with lovely bedrooms, a varied menu with tasty and well prepared food (mac cheese and fish and chips particularly good), nice bar area, and friendly and efficient staff. The location is great - right by Loch Etive, with the restaurant having great views from big picture windows. I was a solo traveller, and the staff - particularly Rudie and Kirsty - made me feel very welcome.

Room Tip: I was in the room with the ‘compact’ shower, Room 5 - and it was absolutely fine. Lovely...

Check in was very friendly and relaxed, our room was lovely, reasonably clean and sufficiently modern with a superb king size bed and a fantastic view over the bay. The negatives: small tv and rather ‘cosy’ shower cubicle which was incredibly small given the size of the bathroom afforded a far more comfortable size. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice and we were attended to very efficiently although the young girl I believe forgot about us initially she made up for it with a cheerful attitude and demeanour. Breakfast was ample and we were attended to by a very service oriented gentlemen. We would definitely stay again if in the area, Thank you for your hospitality.
