Detailed Reviews
We spent a week at Ogopogo and can't say enough about how well thought out this resort is. The cottage was immaculately clean, very well equipped, and unlike many other cottage rentals or resorts, they had high quality kitchen tools, like sturdy knives, plates, BBQ's and more. It was great to have towels, linens, and truly everything you'd need for a cottage week. Also - great WIFI all over the entire resort - even at the dock!
You can tell the friendly owners who live on site put so much thought into everything. Very nice lake, we brought our boat, lots of seating around for everyone and awesome water things to use like kayaks, paddle boards and pedal boats. You would be hard pressed to find a better valued cottage resort in the area!

The pandemic brought alot of uncertainty whether we would still be able to go or feel comfortable enough to go back to Ogopogo this summer. But the months before our arrive, Todd and Katherine were amazing keeping us updated on the situation.
When we arrived, everything was exceptional as it usually is. All the COVID precautions were taken and everyone was informed what to do to stay safe. For sure there were changes from last year like no common games provided or use of the playground, but there is so much to do here that it didn't matter (you can still bring your own games, floats, sand toys). All the kayaks, SUP, pedal boats were still available (disinfectent spray provided) as were the life jackets (lysol spray provided).
You can't forget about the amazing mountain lake, so warm! The second camp fire is a nice addition. There is also a heated outdoor pool for those that are not crazy going in to the lake (often little kids).
For outings there is lots to do in Minden and Haliburton (look it up here on Trip Advisor)
There is a reason why there is a waiting list to get a summer spot.
Bottom line, call and get on the waiting list, you won't be disappointed once you get to Ogopogo!

Amid the pandemic, like many of you, my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to go to escape the stress of being reminded of it every second. Well, we found that place here. We had a great and quiet time and weren't reminded of it once other than all of the safety precautions that are strictly enforced. When you arrive you are greeted at a proper social distance and are reminded of social distancing and asked kindly to adhere to them. Then you walk I to the cottage and you'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner place, a big spray bottle of hospital grade sanitizer with freshly washed cloths as soon as you walk in (plus premixed bleach and water under the sink) and everything from top to bottom gets full sanitation before you get there. I found myself very at ease there and trust me, that's a difficult thing with someone like myself. In addition, there is sanitizer and wipes at every activity you can possibly do. I HIGHLY recommend this resort for anyone that isn't sure about things amid this pandemic. They take care of everything so you feel at ease. We would have been back there already of it weren't for cottages being booked so fast!

We visited Ogopogo for the very first time early October and we'll certainly be back.
Very friendly and attentive owners, nice kept up cottages/territory and lake shore with extended pier where you could spend time in Muskoka chair gazing at water and fall colours. Speaking of latter, Todd kindly spend all the time I needed to digest info on sites worth visiting around while he marked those on the map - it was a great foundation for our splendid next two days. We didn't swim or use any water vessels (kayak, boat or See Dog) due to cold weather focusing on hiking instead - snapping a picture of a porcupine napping on a tree branch on one of trails was a highlight!
Thank you very much and I do recommend the resort!

Ogopogo Resort is a winter Shangri-La for those who love to celebrate winter outdoors. We’ve visited 3 years and have enjoyed ourselves immensely on every visit.
We’ve enjoyed evening skating on a lighted flooded ice surface on the lake, cross country skiing on groomed trails just across the road, snowshoeing on the lake, dog sledding (at Haliburton Forest Reserve about a half hour away) and winter hiking in Algonquin Park. On a clear moonless night, it’s a stargazers paradise.
The studio cabin is modern, bright, cozy and clean, with gas fireplace, Jacuzzi hot tub and great kitchen. Lots of windows overlook the lake.
The owners, Todd and Catherine, are friendly, helpful hosts. Our luggage and food were transported to and from the car by snowmobile. Skates, skis and snowshoes can be borrowed for those without. Todd even repaired our broken ski binding at no charge.
We can’t wait to return next year.

Perfect June getaway. From the owners Katherine and Todd greeting us, to the immaculate and well outfitted cottage, attention to detail was clearly recognized and appreciated (they had great Covid protocols in place throughout as well). Todd set us up in a great boat rental (the depth/fish finder was a nice surprise) and even pointed out some key fishing spots. There were so many water options (kayak, paddleboards) and got lucky with some 30+ days in early June. The swimming area is very well maintained and was being enjoyed by everyone. We were there as a couple but would encourage family/extended family to stay as it really felt very homey thanks to Katherine & Todd's hospitality. Thanks for a great few days and looking forward to coming back in winter to try ice fishing!

Amazingly well kept place. Hosts are wonderful at balancing between helpful while still giving guests their space. Everytime we go up there is a new addition or renovation that has taken place. If you haven't gone you need to give it a shot.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom cottage #2. The cottage was extremely well decorated and comfortable in every way. We were steps from the beach, fire pit and docks. There are not a lot of cottages and they were spaced apart nicely so we were not crowded. The owners kept the firepit stocked with wood and responded to our one request within moments. We would definitely love to return again! Highly recommend as we love this area.

We have been renting several cottages every year for the last several years at Ogopogo and we always have a wonderful time. Todd and Katherine have made all kinds of improvements over the years and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting of their resort. We spend a lot of time on the lake rink and the toboggan hill which are both very well maintained!

Amazing escape, very comfortable and peaceful, exactly what we needed. Very organized and went above and beyond what is needed to feel safe during these times. Many amenities on site and great location for dinning, shopping and out door activities if you choose to venture in the area.

Hello,,
Thank you for your questions. Most information can be found on our website:
Answers to your specific questions:
Absolutely, we are open for the winter months. In fact, it is a toss up as to whether I prefer the summer or winter more here at ogopogo Resort. We offer ice fish hut rental, a lit ice skating rink on the lake for skating under the stars, 10.5 kms of groomed cross country ski trails just across the road from us and we are only 20 minutes from Sir Sam's Ski Resort for downhill skiing adventures.
Pricing changes by the seasons, cottage size, # of people and the duration of your stay and I would therefore refer you to the rate page on our website.
We have two x three bedroom cottages that can accommodate up to 8 people but have bedrooms to sleep 6 comfortably. Unfortunately no, they are only equipped with one bathroom.
We do not allow pets in the cottages. We had a mishap with a dog once on our property that seriously scared another guest and we just can't take any chances In addition, there are just too many health related issues, allergies etc. for other guests and we must stand by our no pet policy for now.
Thanks once again for your interest in our property.
Hi there
I apologize but I saw this. You can drive up to all the lakeside cottages and unload and load your vehicle but we ask that you park your vehicle in parking. The reason is that it would block the views of the lake if we had everyone's cars down by the lake. The garden court 3 bedroom cottages have parking right at them. Sorry for taking so long to respond
