The front restaurant, beach restaurant and wooden rooms are still there, the rest have gone, with signs of a new resort being planned. We stayed in 2011 and 2012. Now I know why it was not as good the second time, it had probably been sold! Lots of building around Chaweng, check before you book anywhere.

This is a review for their beach restaurant, where we had dinner one evening. The tables were set out on the beach itself, which was really nice. We had Thai dinner, we ordered mixed vegetables, green curry with chicken and prawn with mushroom, with steamed rice and drinks. Taste was decent, service and price was okay, came to up about...

This place is in an ideal location as it's only a few minutes walk to the "main" areas of Chaweng but far enough out to get a quiet nights sleep every night. The bad; rooms are old and quite grubby; we didn't mind as we came here for everything chaweng has to offer and not to stay in the rooms....

Great little set up here ideal for the single traveller or couples, right in the middle of the action just off both the beach and the main road but very quiet. Bathroom was a little dingy but the air con worked and i had no problems at all during my 2 week stay here.

I'm never sure about Lonely Planet recommendations so I decided to try one out. Epic fail. Never again will I listen to Lonely Planet blindly. TripAdvisor has a much better resource of reviews and ratings from independent travelers. I try to see the good in any place I stay and ill say that the friendly attentive service of some of...

The rooms were dated, the bathroom was so dirty and disgusting that I couldn't bear to use it! The air con was noisy. The service was terrible. The beach area was covered in litter. The only ok bit was the pool. Overall you couldn't pay me to come back and it definitely isn't a 3 star! I'd be pushed to...

Uncomfortable is all I can say about this place - from the non-working AC's, splinter-causing wood floors, broken shower head, single beds for a couple, the don't- give- a- s***t reception staff.... the other guests all said the same but they were on a package and so were STUCK. Not to be totally negative, the bar served cold beer and...

We stayed here after extending our holiday in Koh Samui and then having our previous resort booked out. It was a fairly cheap hotel and $55 au a night, so I guess you get what you pay for. Our room was dirty and we used thongs on our feet in the bathroom as we were not sure how clean the...

I booked Chaweng Villa Resort after my week at Ark Bar Resort, i booked the deluxe room, i didn't want any surprises or any smelly or hear through bungalows, it could have all passed as an okay stay but guess what? It didn't... the bathrooms! The bathrooms OMFG, extremely dim lit for a start, no air ventilation so expect the...

“For 200 Bhat more/night you can get a deluxe bungalow and be closer to the beach. Make sure you get a discount on the rate as they had a lot of empty rooms when we checked in. We got 600 Bhat/night knocked off the reg rate of our room.”

“The deluxe building rooms have large sliding glass doors, so particularly in the downstairs room s you can see straight into them with the curtains open. the plus side is, the rooms all get a lot of light.”

“Try the lower number bungalows, they are close to the pool and the beach and the quietest. The good beach is 500 m or less from this hotel, but no biggie. The bad beach makes it quiet.”
