We stayed at the Chaweng Garden Beach Resort over NYE, and loved it, we would definitely go back again. The staff were great, and the resort was really lovely. It was was alot nicer than the photos look.
It's very beachy so the whole resort has sandy lanes between all the cabins, and 2 pools. 1 pool is next to the restaurant and has massages next to it, and the other pool has a swim up bar. The restaurant was really good, and the breakfast was quite good with a mix of asian and western foods on offer.
The resort backs directly onto the beach and the front of the resort is on the main street in Chaweng right by lots of good restaurants and shops. The beach was lovely and clean, with sun lounger chairs available. You can even eat dinner right on the beach, with the restaurant setting up tables on the sand, which was great
There is a modern shopping centre about 5 minutes walk away which has a grocery store, cinema, and many other shops and restaurants. The airport is only a 10 min drive away as well.
There is no gym at the resort but there is a very tiny gym available for a very small cost which you can find in the side street down the further driveway of the resort, it belongs to another building but you can go there for around 80 baht a day I think it was.
The room we had was a cabin, and was large and had a small bar fridge, hairdryer and huge bathroom, and was very nicely decorated in a wooden, Thai style.
We would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful beachfront resort in a great location. I stayed in their beachfront bungalow for 3 nights while collaborating with the marketing manager. This is one of the few resorts still open for customers in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui. They offer comfortable rooms at competitive prices, delicious a-la-carte breakfast at restaurant, large swimming pool, and romantic dinner on the beach. Highly recommend staying here during your visit to Koh Samui!

Chawing Harden Beach Resort is potentially a great place to stay, but sleep may be very difficult. We stayed in two of the expensive Shinto rooms, that are well appointed with all the amenities you might need, although the beds are a tad to firm. Reception is efficient and friendly and so is the rest of the staff. As we had an early morning flight, there was no time for breakfast, but we got simpel but adequate breakfast boxes.
The problem with staying here is not the Chawing Garden Beach Resort itself, but the very loud resort next door. The Shinto rooms border are just meters away from the party on the beach and you canb forget a peacefull night of sleep because of the thumping basses and very loud crowd. When we complained to the recpetion, they immediately knew what we were talking about and they were prepared; wthin three minutes there was someone offering earplugs\. But thies is not what we expect from rooms costing over 5000 THB a night. Moving in the middle of the night was also not really an option.
Avoid like the plague if you want a good nights sleep. The free transfer to the airport was nice, but no compensation for the lost sleep.

We had a pool villa and I would highly recommend not staying in one unless you like to hear the squealing, screeching, shouting and yes some laughter of kids from early morning to late evening. If your idea of a good resort is to have the same atmosphere as your local public pool in summer time, then this might be for you. If you are looking for quiet, calm and a bit of tropical serenity, then I would not recommend staying here.
The resort is also right next door to the Ark beach club, which has blaring dance music going all day long. If you are out in the water in front of the hotel, you can barely carry on a conversation without shouting. The constant noise everywhere in this resort took away from any natural beauty it has.
Also to note is that this end of Chaweng beach has a large natural breakwater offshore, so there are no waves. The water is flat and not great for swimming if you like to play in the waves.
The restaurant we found to be of decent quality, but also 50% more than the resort we stayed at further south on Chaweng beach.
The resort does have a very nice natural tree canopy over top of the lounge chairs on the beach, which was nice. However, there was never a chair available after 9am, as people set their towels out early to hold the chairs for the day.
If we could have moved after our first night we would have, but the resort was non refundable, so we had to endure for 4 nights.

We absolutely loved this resort. This was our second time to the resort and will return again. On this trip we stayed at 4 places in Koh Samui and this was by far our favourite. The resort is a cross between a traditional thai resort and a bigger hotel, with the advantages of both. Our first floor unit backed onto the Ark Bar and not once did the music affect our sleep at all. The room is spacious, light and airy with a big balcony overlooking the lush palms and greenery. We did put a mossie coil on each night. Reception went out of their way to accomodate our request to extend our stay. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. The wait staff around the pool area and beach were exceptional in particular the supervisor whose name I forgot. At one stage on our visit he jumped into the pool to save a child, then got out dried himself off and went back to work soaking wet, he was amazing. The best part is the deckchairs right on the beautiful beach, wow this was truly a beautiful holiday experience. There is a guy on the beach to the left that sells whole pineapples , he peels them and cuts them up on a plate for you all for 70baht he also offers watermelon, mangoes, coconuts etc. These are a great snack whilst on the beach. All in all we could not fault this amazing place, especially the BBQ seafood on the beach each night. We will return

We absolutely loved our stay at Chaweng Gardens and can’t wait to get back there! The location is perfect for the beach, bars, restaurants, markets, public transport - everything is close by. We requested a twin room and the hotel very candidly recommended we didn’t go with this option due to the nighttime noise from the street and Arkbar. My daughter was adamant she wanted her own bed anyway so we did go with the twin room. It was loud almost every night but to be honest it didn’t bother us. We sat on the balcony some nights singing along to the music. We did really appreciate the honesty of the hotel on check in by warning us of this - I’ve never known this at another hotel! Every staff member we came across was so friendly and approachable and really helped to make our stay. If we had to pick one thing for improvement it would be that the rooms are a little outdated but this really didn’t effect our stay in the slightest. It is kept clean and that’s all that mattered! This place has a great location that is within walking distance of anything and everything you might need. It is right next door to the Ark Bar so there is a "quiet" side of the resort and a "not so quiet" side but it's not too bad. The pool area and beach were kept very clean. The restaurant was great. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices. The lunch and dinner menu was great. The garlic and herb mussels.... MMMMM. Staff was quite friendly and helpful with anything guests needed. It is right across the street from the party/nightlife district so if that is what you desire this is the place for you. On a side note..... this resort is right on the flight path for the airport so during the day and into the early evening you will have planes flying right over the top of you. Some might find this annoying. I thought it was great.

We have been spending our holidays on Koh Samui for 21 years. We were guests at the Chaweng Buri Resort for 15 years. Then we spent 4 years at Ban Chaweng and since 2023 we have been enjoying the very special flair of the Chaweng Garden Beach Resort. Located in the heart of Chaweng, the complex is designed like a very well-kept, tropical garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The guys on the beach take great care of the guests and are always up for a bit of fun. The boss, an older lady, welcomes guests on the beach every day. The resort is located in the arrival and departure lane of USM airport, but the planes can only be heard for a very short time and do not bother us in the slightest. The neighboring Ark Bar makes some noise from early afternoon onwards with its loud bass, but this does not bother us either. In the bungalow, the bass can only be heard very quietly and has never disturbed our very restful sleep. The selection of food and drinks for breakfast is very extensive. We can also highly recommend a dinner on the beach with freshly grilled fish and seafood. We will be happy to come back.
