One night stopover on our motor tour. Great secure car parking in the locked barn. Beautiful room (8, L'étoile). Accessible bathroom (low door - husband bumped his head many times!) with unenclosed shower, leading to very wet floor. Beautiful views from bedroom windows, and so quiet - just a couple of early morning cock-a-doodle-dos! Thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu "Inspiration...

Dear Queen B.We are really sorry for the head of your husband. Unfortunately the old house and its thick walls did not allow us to break the door of advantage where from a height of ceiling of not very important door and saddened for the shower because this one being adapted to the disabled people cannot be of advantage closed...

We had 2 confirmed rooms,in writing, and arriving at the hotel after an 8 hour drive we were informed that we had only booked 1 room and anyway there was only 1 room available. They found us an inferior room on the other side of the village.....not what we were looking forward to at all. We arrived at the restaurant...

Dear guest, We are really sorry that you are also dissatisfied of our services. We understand well on and are saddened of error that we committed with you in particular for the reservation of the room. I think that my colleague thought that you wish to reserve a room with two beds and not two rooms, that is why he...

Beautiful room. Beautiful view. A wonderful experience in the heart of rural France. And the food was suburb-every course a gourmet experience. A family owned business that is very welcoming. Its just a French village experience you should not miss!

We (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed here to break the journey to S France. We stayed in a series of rooms above the front door - double bedroom, large walk in wardrobe doubled as a room for children and an enormous bathroom. The rooms are elegant, clean and tidy. The children happily chased each other round the garden for...

We had stayed in the 'old' Auberge many times long ago, and spent some time searching for it, not realising it had moved to much grander surroundings. We must have visited on the staff's night off, as the 'B Team' was clearly in control, on a dull Sunday night in low season (this was back in March). The room was...

Dear Mike S, Probably I received you in the Auberge, the Old auberge by the past. I am very bored, annoyed by reading your message and am really sorry that you did not appreciate our new establishment. If I understood well the service did not suit to you and I kindly request you to excuse us for it. We try...

It is some time since we last dined at Restaurant Natali. It is a 90 minute drive from our French home. On the whole, the standard of food including presentation and, not least, taste was as good as ever. One exception, however, was the veal chop which was ordered as 'à point' and was actually raw in the centre. When...

Dear Mr Prolland, Really we were very annoyed by reading your message. We are so confused. But you're right the attitude of the people who don't do nothing for you is not our politic. If a cooking does not suit we make what is needed to repair this inconvenience and we prepare a new dish if it's necessary, it's not...

Extraordinarily amiable service, excellent cuisine, great chef. Good location, particularly for a visit to Colombey-les-Deux-Églises dedîcated to knowing more about General de Gaulle. Property tastefully furbished.

A return trip after two years and once again was not disappointed. The food was excellent, as well as the service. I had the menu du jour which was excellent and excellent value my in-laws chose the other menu which was also very good. Highly recommended

Rooms were old fashioned but impeccably kept up. Quiet and comfortable. The staff helped with cycles and baggage and were attentive throughout. Meal delicious - and this is a tough group. Short but okay wine list, which is natural for diverse range of clients. This town represents a pilgrimage to Charles DeGaulle, but these people are not necessarily big spenders.

Hostellerie La Montagne is a very relaxing and unusual place to stay. We have stayed and dined here many times over the last few years and The food in the restaurant has always been excellent and the service is professional but not over fussy. The whole ambiance of the hotel/restaurant is easy going and informal, the rooms are unusual and...

“There is a large, creaky suite on the 1st floor of the old building: if you like 19th century fixtures, including a shower in a cupboard, this is it. If you prefer a little more comfort ask for the rooms in the 'annexe', which are modern. In the lower part of the old building, there are two more suites which are quite cosy but they do not look like they have been refurbished ever since the days of General De Gaulle.”
