We stayed at the Penny Motel this September and it was an amazing experience. The motel itself is steps from so many pubs, restaurants and coffee shops - not to mention the Thornbury Village Cider and Brew House. Everyone we encountered during our stay was so pleasant. The staff at the Penny Motel are kind, approachable and thoughtful. You can see how much thought and attention has been put into this motel, including sharing their recommendations for things to do in the area which were a great resource for us as we had never been to Thornbury.
There were complimentary pastries and coffee in the lobby each morning, the rooms were newly renovated with cosy beds and heated floors in the bathroom, and there are lots of outdoor games in their courtyard.
We are already looking for availability for when we can return :)

Stayed here Aug 3-6 & loved everything about it.

Staff were very welcoming & hands on, particularly John. The room was spacious & nicely decorated - we had a 2 bed room. The heated floors in the bathroom were great & a big fan of the Malin & Goetz toiletries. A nice little bonus was the s'mores fixings provided each night for use at the communal fire. Took advantage of the provided bikes for a trip on the Georgian Trail which is steps away.

The motel was only recently opened after renovations & still a work in progress. Once the restaurant is opened it will add to the experience. We suggested a mirror in the room, which we were told would be coming eminently.

The location was great - we enjoyed the quick walk to the Thornbury Village Cider & Brew House, had a wonderful dinner at Fabric & visited the Thornbury Bakery multiple times. It's ideally located to take advantage of Blue Mountain village & Scandinave Spa.

Already talking about coming back & have been raving about this place to friends.

I stayed at Penny’s for a few nights with my good friend for a little girls trip out of town! We had such an amazing time! The suite we stayed in was very modern and stylishly furnished. We loved the fire pits and sat by one of the two every night of our stay! Penny’s is at such a great location and is only about a 10-15 minute walk to the main street where all of the shops and restaurants are located. It is also only a short drive to nearby towns in the Blue Mountain area. Everyone we met in Thornbury was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back!

Stayed here as part of a 7 day road trip. Very comprehensive renovation of an old style motel, rooms are well done to a high standard. The rooms are very compact ok for a single night but very tight for 2 people and their luggage. Breakfast not available which made it a very expensive stay its an option that the owners need to offer.
Loved the free bikes to borrow which was my favourite aspect of my stay.

Stayed for 2 nights and loved it! Penny’s Motel is a beautiful motel with luxury touches, from great room coffee, warmed bathroom floors, smartly positioned shower head to great toiletries among many.
The best part is the cozy and welcoming bar with great drinks and oysters. We visited multiple times and got to chat with the locals and the visitors. What a lovely experience! The staff made our stay very pleasant!
The weather was not conducive to skiing but we did the best of it. Enjoyed Scandinave Spa, Thornbury hike and local shopping. We had best dinners and lunches at Bruce Wine Bar, Fabrica, Bent Taco (Collingwood), and Heart’s (Kimberly).

We loved our two-night stay! What we liked best was that the rooms weren't just stylish, they were incredibly comfortable with thoughtful details: heated floors in the bathroom, great toiletries, Flow water, potato chips, super plush towels and comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we felt so well taken care of the whole time. Our dog loved it too and we will be back!

Not sure why this place is called a motel because it is definitely not that...more like a boutique hotel if you ask me. Customer service was great, exceptional staff with that nice country charm. Penny's has all you need within the confines of the property if you choose not to explore the surrounding area. Just think night time bonfires in the courtyard, a good game of bochi ball or taking a dip in the open air hot tub. If you're ever visiting the blue mountains, this should be your only stop for accommodations!

I booked Penny's Motel as part of a much needed weekend away for my boyfriend's birthday and our entire experience exceeded my expectations. We arrived in the dark to the magical bonfire lit courtyard, settled into our very clean and lovely room and made our way to the tiny restaurant/bar where we were treated to an incredibly delicious dinner and drinks by the friendly and enthusiastic staff. Friday evening set the mood for the rest of the weekend and we were truly sad to leave - will definitely return! Worth the drive from KW and worth the cost for such a sweet and intimate retreat in a beautiful part of Ontario.

This was a hidden gem although it is not really hidden as it is right on the highway. (But I didn't notice any road noise) It is so sharply updated, you will feel yourself smiling at all of it's cuteness. Many many well thought out touches and amenities adorn this quaint lodging. It is retro and modern all at the same time. Love the pretty painted fencing when you enter parking lot, and the coolers outside your door filled with ice! Rooms, decor, bedding and bathrooms are all lovely. Fire pit and circle of chairs very nice. Didn't use very small pool but thought it was sweet looking! Went into the Apres Snack Bar. Great staff and vibe, albeit small. Nice outdoor seating with fire table. Oysters were yummy, but nothing else was offered on the menu. Unfortunately, that left my friend without a snacker. Drinks were delish. Coffee available in the am was appreciated also.

We had an excellent weekend at Penny's Motel. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room was cozy and warm and the atmosphere was excellent! We particularly enjoyed the seamless process for arrival/departure, the coolers full of ice awaiting our arrival. The campfire was well stoked - and the blankets for extra warmth were appreciated.
