The Royal Harbour has everything that you need to enjoy your visit to Thornbury/Blue Mountain region. It is clean and basic and well maintained. Each unit has a beautiful view of the harbour. During the summer I suspect that for some units that view may be a problem since they open onto the patio and privacy might be an issue. We enjoy the location for ski trips to Blue Mountain since it is a 10 minute drive to the hill. After a day of skiing there are many shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants within a short stroll of the Royal Harbour Resort. The grocery store and liquor store are a short 5 minute drive and within walking distance. We have been to the Royal Harbour 3 times in the past 2 years and we will go back next ski season.

We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and the check-in process was easy. We had a unit on the top floor, and the main rooms were very spacious. The wall of windows afforded a beautiful view of Georgian Bay.

The kitchen was well stocked, and the place was clean. The livingroom furniture was a bit worn, but the fireplace was very nice, and heated the place well. Someone had melted something on the glass, but after I painstakingly cleaned it off, the flames were more visible. The beds however were very hard and uncomfortable. It was the middle of winter, and there was only a very thin blanket. We had to crank the heat before we went to bed and put a towel under the outside door as the cold air was blowing in, making the hallway an icebox!

The inside stairwell off the kitchen was a source of frustration because it acted as a chimney from the other units. Someone must have burned the grease from frying bacon,,or a spill from an oven, and it filled our unit with a horrible acrid smell. We opened the back door to let the smell and smokiness out, but that just created suction to pull more in. They need to put some weatherstripping around the doors to seal it better. It would help with the noise as well.

We also had trouble with another unit which must have brought a booming bass stereo. We called the front dest to complain, and we weren't the only ones. I finally located the source of the noise, and reported it to the front desk. They immediately took care of it, and we didn't have any more issues. We were thankful for that! However, the bedroom walls are pretty thin, and you can hear the people next door.

The other issue we had with noise was they had a small Bobcat clearing snow from the parking lot. This started at FOUR in the morning, and continued until after 6:30!! The back-up beepers were LOUD!! There was absolutely no need for them
since there was nobody walking around the lot, and EVERYONE staying there was trying to sleep! Not impressed at all!!

There was also a broken cement parking barrier, with a piece of rebar sticking straight up. We watched as people tripped over it, because it was partly covered with snow. This needs to be fixed before someone really injures themselves!

Overall our stay was pleasant, but definitely some improvements are needed here.

The place is just 15 min drive from Blue. It's very roomy and all units oversee the harbour. The place is an ex-condo building built some time in the 80-s. I think it's even nicer during the summer period.
The check-in was fast and easy.
As a friendly advise to the owner of this place: we sign the paperwork when we check in that we know that pets are not allowed. I'm absolutely fine with that.
Probably it would make sense to add there that it's not polite to swim in the pool in the clothes. And it's also not polite to put feet into the hot tub if the guest just sits on the chair near by. I couldn't use the hot tub with someone's feet in it. And I removed my kids from the pool when I saw people in clothing (not a swimming suit) using it.
Just my 2 pennies.

Great location overlooking the bay. Unit spacious and all the necessary supplies. Wifi very sporadic. Unit very outdated not very bright. A fresh coat of paint and updating the light fixtures would really help.

Front staff was great on check in, even took our cell to let us know if we could have the room earlier. We had room 104, easy to access, huge apartment-style accommodation. Great location. Well stocked kitchen to bring your own food.
Huge patio overlooking the water.
This property could use some TLC, the ceiling looked like it had a major leak and the corners/spider webs were not vacuumed.
They had problems splitting the bill so that we could each claim the staycation credit, but it was finally resolved after a few emails. The wifi was non-existent and some of the businesses that were listed as giving discounts on presentation of our room key did not. There appears to be a non-smoking policy but twice people were smoking on the patio when we were there. The flower pot was full of butts, that shows many people smoke there.
Thornbury itself seems to cater to the rich. The shops are very expensive, as were the eating establishments. It was well worth it to go to Meaford or Collingwood to shop and dine.

Overall this resort was clean and well maintained. We had a blizzard weather condition, but, the staircases, walkways, and the parking lots were cleared of snow promptly. Stuffs were very helpful and courteous. Angela was exceptional among them. We will visit again soon!

Wonderful customer service and fast check in. The units are somewhat dated and coaches should be replaced, but the location, spacious units and excellent customer service makes up for this. Everything is close by and in walking distance....groceries, pharmacy, restaurants and gift shops. Only a 15 minutes drive from Blue Mountain skiing.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff and management (especially Angela and Sharlene and Kristine) were excellent, as was the maintenance man who fixed our fireplace. Unit was clean, and there was a fresh rose in a vase on the mantlepiece, which was such a sweet touch. Great views out the large windows on one side, and a small balcony/sitting area on the other. Kitchen had pretty well everything one would expect (no blender, which most units seem to have these days). The wifi is very poor, but staff told us they are switching providers soon and hope that it will be better. The unit is a bit dated, and the beds, couches and carpeting are probably due to be replaced. We really appreciated being able to book time to use the indoor pool and hottub; they only allow 2 rooms at a time, which we lliked. We hope to return soon.

This is a 4-season resort right on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay. Our 3rd-floor unit overlooked the harbour. Although it was winter, watching the waves crashing on the shore one day and then seeing them freeze mid-air the next was spectacular. A quaint little main street has lots of interesting shops and a great cafe to sample delicious pastries. Thornbury is only 20 minutes away from Collingwood where there is some great skiing to be had. The resort staff was very friendly and helpful catering to guests' needs. This is our second stay at this resort and we would go back again!

Enjoyed our fourth visit to Royal Harbour Resort.
Stayed in a studio unit , the full kitchen is a bonus , though there are lots of restaurants within walking distance including the bakery.
The lack of snow made walking easy , we aren’t skiers so that wasn’t a problem.
Friendly staff and locals made the experience even more enjoyable.
Only issue was the WiFi , gave up trying to connect in our unit, fortunately we were there to “unplug “.
Especially enjoyed the adults only pool/hot tub time .
Look forward to another visit in the warmer months when the Waterfall tour or Apple Pie trail is a must.
