Stayed at Jean-Francios's beautiful home at the end of our walk from Le Puy en Velay. What a place! Loved his artwork, his breakfasts, his sense of humour and his kindness. Thank you our Capitain! The house is a short stroll alongside the river and across a gorgeous old bridge from town. Very comfortable and welcoming. Would highly recommend as...

We ended up here because we had booked 2 nights at Errecaldia, but somehow they overbooked and required us to vacate the second night. Our host, Tim, made reservations for us here and carried us here. I had only 2 negatives: the breakfast is served late if you're walking the Camino and want an early start and we had difficulty...

Stayed there in my way to the start of the Camino de Santiago. Jean François, our host could not be more wonderful , he would do everything to make you fell that you are home. To get to this magical place, you walk by the river in a magical forest, rooms are wonderful, bathroom is clean and with a lot...

Have to start review by saying: Thank you so much Jean-François! He helped us a lot, provided a lot of info about the Camino and even got us the Pilgrim Credentials. The B&B is a 4 minute walk from the main street. But on the way to start the Camino. Comfortable bed. Good night sleep.

After a long flight and train ride, we arrived n St. Jean and were utterly captivated by this storybook town. When we finally arrived at Maison Donamaria, we are welcomed by Jean Francois, the owner and his dog, Zubi, who are waiting outside to greet us. From then on, we felt as if we were visiting an old friend. Our...

I agree with all the other reviews about how well located and comfortable Donamaria is, but what I wanted to comment on is the owner and host Jean-François. He welcomed me in his gentle softspoken way into his home, showed me around and made sure I was ready for my hike the next day. He sensed my anxiety over the...

Great place to stay before heading off on the Camino, fab beds and breakfast, and great location right at the bottom of the Camino path but a lovely stroll along the river into town. Very tranquil beginning to the Camino. Very attentive host, loads of advice for travelling over the Pyrenees can't stay enough good things about Jean Francois was...

Thank you to Jean-François and his Minister of Culture, Zubi (the dog) for making the start of our Camino journey so perfect. From the time I booked directly on the website, to post-departure, the communication and hospitality was excellent. Maison Donamaria is more than a B and B. It is a beautiful country home with the warmest of welcomes.

Maison Donamaria is a haven of tranquility just 5 minutes by foot along the river from the centre of the town. A typical old Basque house oozing with character and most welcoming after a scorching day in the sun. A delightfully peaceful location overlooking La Nive and a little swimming beach. Shady gardens with a swimming pool and a charming,...

I helped arrange travel for two priests who hiked the Camino in July 2015. I searched for lodging at the start of the trip where the gentlemen could meet, adjust to the time difference, and begin their pilgrimage. Jean-Francois, the innkeeper of Maison Donamaria was invaluable to me. He confirmed payment and answered all of my questions promptly. He referred...
