How to start? The entrance to this place is already breathtaking, the elevator brings you to a small advocate, banana plantage dotted with with 8 small cottages. Simpel but beautiful. With beautiful views over the sea. A lot of privacy. The restaurant offers simpel but very tasty food. With Ermelinda running the place very well. Nothing to complain? Well the...

We had a stay here in October 2014. Before we booked we read a lot of reviews so we knew about the stairs (although they feel much higher when your climbing them) and the possibility of bugs. The accommodation is okay. There is enough space for 2 adults and 1 baby (1yr old). It's mostly the location that makes this...

We had seen Faja dos Padres last year on a trip to Madeira and this year we were lucky enough to be able to return and stay in one of the cottages for 3 nights. As others have said the setting is spectacular, at the bottom of dramatic cliffs with the very thrilling elevator ride down to the base. Fabulous!...

Special location, like most traveller said "Paradise on the earth". The villa are also nice and comfortable. Many insects and a cat paid a visit to our villa. No available public transport to the place.

If you have some extra time in Madeira this is a place I would definitely recommend to visit. Please be advised that this place IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO PEOPLE WITH PHYSICAL - MOTOR DISABILITIES!!! The property comprises a long and narrow extension of land along the coast consisting of some ancient farmland allotments which were more recently integrated into one...

Dear Guest, Thank you for having taken the time to give us your feedback about your recent visit and stay at Fajã dos Padres. Despite being almost inaccessible by land, Faja dos Padres history dates back to the beginning of Madeira's colonization. Fajã was once inhabitant by Jesuits and settlers, in addition to the agricultural activity and fishing, it is...

We stayed here four nights at the beginning of January 2014 and were totally charmed by the setting and ethos of Faja dos Padres. As we descended from the clifftop via the lift (operated by the ever-helpful Nelio) we felt as if we were entering a different and idyllic world . After a lovely walk through a tropical plantation, we...

This is just a super place! We (mid-twenties) had spend some time looking for a quiet but cool place to stay for a week. Arriving with our rented car at the cliff and waiting what to come is so amazing. You have to walk to a small elevator that will go down to your house. It is an absolute super...

Whether you'd like to rent a guest house or having a coffee beer on the beach make sure you visit this place when in the Island. This place is closed on Tuesday and in the winter time. I would advise for reservation if you're planning to have a meal. The ride in the elevator is smooth and you'll enjoy the...

I stayed here for the last night of 3 weeks in Madeira. The first 18 nights were spent in a lovely hostel but I desperately needed quiet, nature and comfort and this beautiful place delivered. It's gorgeous, well laid out, organized and clean. The guys who helped me (Pedro and Nicholas) were friendly, prompt and even packed a picnic basket...

“each cottage appeared to be different so look at the descriptions to find one that best suits you. they are basic but comfortable, bigger than we expected with private garden overlooking the sea”

“There are about 180 steps from the cliff top to the cliff elevator, and at the base there is another 180+ stairs from the elevator to the beach, so wear decent shoes and go slow or plan to shower at the far end.”
