Just got back from a lovely relaxing 2 night stay here. Set in a lovely peaceful and picturesque village. The accommodation was superb with a lovely clean room and massive comfortable bed. Very well run and no issues at all with the COVID restrictions. The breakfast which you ordered the night before was excellent.....one of the best that we’ve had in a long time. Staff were lovely too. Plenty places to visit in the area but our favourite was Aberdovey.....beautiful little coastal resort. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone that wants peace, quality, great breakfast and lovely owners.

We booked a hotel in Aberdovey/Aberdify on the sea front but unfortunately the hotel was over booked when we arrived and so they very kindly contacted the Llety Brynawel Guest House who luckily had a room available that same evening. The hotel kindly offered to pay for our night's stay at the Llety Brynawel Guest House, which we thought was very fair in the circumstances and so we drove up to the Guest House in Pennal. When we went to check-out the next morning, the owner of the guest house said that he knew of this arrangement as he had discussed and agreed it on the phone with the hotel the night before. He therefore said that we had nothing to pay other than our dinner bill from the evening before, which we duly settled. However, when we arrived home we discovered that the Guest House had charged us £80 to my partner's credit card for the room (the card he had used to pay for dinner in the Riverside Inn which the owners of the Guest House also run). My partner had not authorised his card to be used and we were very shocked. I had used my card to make the original hotel booking, so technically this is fraud. They also decided to charge us £30 because we took the hand sanitiser, body shampoo & shampoo from our room with us (we were under the impression that these toiletries could not be re-used due to Covid safety issues and the hotels we stayed in previously that week had asked us to therefore take everything with us!). Nowhere in the bedroom or in the literature did it say that these toiletry items cost anything, so again we felt that this was very bad! (I do sometimes take the little toiletries with me if I haven't used them when in a hotel room). We came home with £110 of extra charges that we had not agreed to and were frankly quite shocked. My partner rang the Guest House to explain what had happened and he also rang the original hotel, both of whom said that they would come back to him but they never did! I also emailed both establishments and have not had any replies, even though our stay was several weeks ago!! We have now had to take this up with my partner's credit card's fraud department. I feel that other potential guests of this establishment should be made aware of what they did to us! At no point did they contact us or try to speak to us about charging our credit card!! This meant that I paid for the original hotel on my credit card and then my partner was illegally charged - so we technically paid twice for something that we were told would be free due to the mix up that had happened and that wasn't our fault. We were disappointed that we didn't get to stay by the seaside in the end but decided to make the most of it and so ended up spending a good amount on dinner at the Riverside Inn! On a separate note, I would not recommend this Guest House anyway as the pillow cases on my side of the bed were all dirty, the duvet cover had a hole in it and the room didn't feel that clean! The owners had someone in making a lot of noise (not sure if this was a workman or not) but there was a lot of banging very early the next morning which woke us up. When we checked in to other hotels on this trip, they asked us to open our own door handle as they had sanitised it for us and there were other touches like this, I did not feel that this Guest House was doing anything like this from a Covid perspective. We definitely won't be staying here ever again as we cannot trust this establishment!

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay at Llety Brynawel. As a family of 4, we had two rooms, both of which were perfect. Well appointed with everything you could need and spotlessly clean. First trip away with the worry of Covid in the back of our minds, but rest assured Glyn and Corina have everything covered - we felt 100% safe here. Brynawel is ideally placed for exploring the local area. We visited Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and spent a lot of time in Aberdovey with its 3 mile sandy beach. We plan to visit again soon.

Wife and I were looking for an overnight stay to break a long drive from Devon to Conwy, and found great reviews on the Llety Brynawel, so booked in at only £80 inc breakfast. What a great decision it was! We arrived in heavy rain at 8pm at the Riverside restaurant just 250 yds away, told the friendly staff that we'd arrived and headed over to the Guest House. We only had to open the front door to smell the freshness of the place, smelled beautiful and very welcoming. Upstairs we found our room beautifully clean, tidy, nice decor, with a BIG bed and fully equipped with flat-screen TV, tea-making facilities, fine crockery, even a Nespresso machine and pods. Looked like being a comfy night! Back at the restaurant we found a very good menu with a wide choice. Food was freshly prepared so took a short while, but well worth the wait and we much enjoyed our meals at a very affordable price.. We walked back to the Guest House, both tired and ready for a shower and bed after a long 5 hour drive through constant rain, much of it in the dark. Llety Brynawel is so peaceful, comfy and homely that we easily fell to sleep and we had a lovely undisturbed night in our lovely room. I'd also mention the lovely shower room, very modern, spotless, fresh, warm, and very relaxing after a very long day. We've no hesitation in giving Llety Brynawel 100% in every respect, also the restaurant which we're told has the same owners. Definitely THE place to return to whenever we are in the area again.
