Because of my work, I always stay at Hotel Pelita. It just fits the bill. Clean, reasonable rate, and good services with friendly staffs. If you're on business travel, the front porch is very convinient for an informal meeting with your work partners. The hotel also offers breakfast, afternoon snacks and wifi. You can also rent their car (with driver) if you want to travel around the city, even if you want to go to Kelimutu Crater Lake in Ende!

But, those niceties can be gone in a second and become a disaster, if you stay there when the meeting room is used for parties!

I consider the daily price a bit pricey. 400k per night is too much!

Hotel location - really close to airport.
Good view from the pool on sunrise and sunset (beachside).
Walking distance to supermarket.
Clean and tidy, they have pool table, around the clock reception and quite a safe place, they do have hot cold water in the room.

Wifi connection, quite fast too, available all around the hotel.

On the down side - too many mosquitoes in the room. I had to spray at least 3 times and out of the room, came back to dozens of dead mosquitoes everytime. But once you get rids of the mosquitoes, its pretty cozy.

Breakfast? Fried rice, noodles, some bread, butter, fruit /banana and tea/coffee. Pretty simple.

nice hotel that is so close to the airport that you can walk, and it is also on the seashore. the sunrises are GORGEOUS! coming over the mountain and dipping into the sea! the staff seems a little grumpy, but may be because we kept asking for the aircon to work and he kept on trying, and we kept on asking to just move to a room where it did work. because by then we were dripping in sweat. we usually now in indonesia bring our own cleaning supplies and baygon bug spray to scrub up the rooms. they really just do not understand standards of cleanliness. we tried room 6 after (which needed painting badly) to no avail. all of the untis are just so old and need maintenance...they can fix them, so they do not lose them entirely, but they had better hurry. the manager lady who was the only ONE who spoke english came and finally gave us the executive room for the same price which was very roomy and had a refridgerator. the aircon DID work after my husband tweaked it a little bit. the breakfast of vanilla cake is brought by the obliging staff to wherever you are in the morning...on the seawall was a nice touch while watching the sunrise. very sweet.. we went out and bought a can of baygon and sprayed the baseboard and all of a sudden the termites cameout in armies. there were termite trails up the bathroom walls, but leave well enough alone there. unless you pay the BIG price for the posh resorts, there does not seem to be an inbetween in maumere. we tried to rent a motorbike, but they will NOT do it unless it is for 250,000 rupia/day...they like to take you on the back for way more than it costs to rent a moto anywhere! and everything is pretty far away. nothing witin walking distance worth seeing here.

I have traveled the length of Indonesia and so compare this to other hotels in the archipelago. I stayed in the VIP room at $55 a night. For this I received big, firm bed with clean linens, two thick towels, hot water, an assortment of mosquitoes and an air conditioner that belched old cigarette smoke at periodic intervals. But I also go an incredible sunrise sea view. There is a karoake bar next to the hotel which they can't control and if you are in the ground floor VIP rooms, it can be really loud until the very wee hours of the morning. Breakfast was fine, mostly Indonesian but sweet buns with cheese and fresh fruit for those who want more Western flavor. Sea View is quieter but this far East, this is a pretty good value and they take credit cards.

Stayed here for about three days, it was clean, comfort and have proper amenities (i.e water heater, room service, etc.) The down point(s) are: 1. Too many mosquitos (they even provide my room with mosquitos repellent (but it was okay afterwards); 2. TV channel, lack of watch-able channel even in local standards. One plus thing that worth to note, they provide an airport pickup service for free.

This hotel has a nice swimming pool. The two rooms we saw were not worth the price because they needed urgent renovation, were a bit dirty, with damp and smelly sheets, old furniture, missing lamp bulbs and so one and so forth...
Good points: the swimming pool as said and the free shuttle for the airport. The latter convinced us to stay one night to catch our plane.

I'd say this hotel is trying hard to be better. The rooms are nice and clean but you better use the mosquito spray provided or you'll be eaten. The mosquitos are not really the hotels fault though as the town itself is filthy with stagnant water sitting beside the main street. English isn't really spoken here so bring your phrasebook. The pool looks nice but we didn't use it. Based on what we saw of the town don't bother but if you did need to stay in Maumere then stay here and bring snacks with you.

It is a good hotel. Everything is clean. It is a 5 minute drive from the airport and has a nice pool with a big part for children to play in. The view is really nice. The food is okay, and we got it quit quickly. Outfront there are 2 atms. Like all hotels they do overcharge their taxi costs. Just get one yourself.
