We stayed there just last month and it was very good.. Clean rooms ( not always available in Flores!) the staff were lovely and would do anything/organise anything for you with big smiles. R 200,000 a night and great value. Don't worry about the power station - rooms are out the back and you don't hear anything. Newer hotels seem to take precedence but Bintang was quiet, accessible and had a great atmosphere. Hayley Anderson Jun '16.

I made a booking for this hotel by phone, and found that the staff were friendly and cooperative. The rooms are clean and comfy. Some of them were equipped with private bathroom, air conditioner, and TV. I really enjoy the breakfast menu; pancake, banana, and eggs. Since it is hard to find restaurant around there at night, you can order the hotel staff to provide you meals.
The hotel location is quite far from the beach, actually. needs 20 minutes walking from the hotel to the beach.

There is no power until 6pm, then no power after 6am. Feels a bit like a run down 60s Australian beach hotel, desperately in need of a refurbishment but with more jesus pictures on the walls. It was basic with a moderately clean bathroom. The walls are thin so it may be noisy. Breakfast simple; coffee, egg and bread which we had to pay extra for. They do have beer but since there is no power all day its Kimberly cold. The fan was good and there are mozzies. The snorkelling on the islands is amazingly good. Riung is very undeveloped and there are not many western tourists, the local tourists passing through the hotel are as exotic as the soft corals on the reefs.

I stayed two nights in Riung (which is worth the visit by the way, very interesting visit to snorkel and to see the flyfoxes), the first one in this hotel and the second at pondok. By far, the pondok is better. Bith basic accomodation, but in this one we did not have toilet paper, neither towels, but we had a lot of water on the floor of the toilet, and a dead spider which attracted mosquitoes ans which nobody had cared to clean. I really recommend to go to Pondok, better managed, and even thouvh it is older, it has been well managed and renovated, while Bintang wisata to me seemed. Lot worst due to the total uncare since it was built.

we have made the reservation 3 weeks ahead before our arrival by handphone (they do not have any other facilities to be contacted to)
Asking Mr Leo, the man who is in charge with the hotel to send us the short message by celular phone for the confirmation - only promises, he never sent any
arriving at the hotel, they do not prepare the room with ac for us, as he's promised
the room is okay, clean without hot water
you have to wait for breakfast
The room is okay, the bathroom is a little bit poor
the double bed just too small especialy for the big person

Never try to rent boat from him
He just ripped off the customer

If we may suggest, skip riung to safe your time. the road is so bad, takes ages to reach there. the people there like to cheat - they try not to bring us to the place which is good for diving with lots of reasons. they just take us to the closest place they want, and if we are loosing our mood, they don't feel bad to take us back to the hotel even we haven't got our good space for scuba dive

This was a relief to find after a stressful couple of days. Big room with sensible elements, like nets and the rack for wet things outside every room. No hot water but blissful aircon. I liked the seats outside along the paved verandah. Presentation of the parking area lets down the attentive staff waiting in the tiled foyer.
This hotel has the basics ready, and as conditions and money allow, could become a popular choice in Riung.

Its totally hard to get a good place to stay when you travel across flores especially place that is outskirts of town. Anyway, this place is highly recommended by the local which I met in a local taxi "bemo" from Mbay to Riung. Upon, arrival, I was much welcome by the owner itself and they let me check the room and it was clean and spacious. Yezza, this is what I need after a hard long winding and rocky journey on a local public transport. Stay 2 nights in a fan room which is to my budget. As for the service, I would gave them 5 star because they will help you to their level best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They share with lots of information from where to go about and eat. Try their ice lemon tea, sodalicious. I highly recommended this place as I m so excessively concerned with cleanliness. Last but not least, I would not recommend to eat at Rico-rico cafe as they are picky on customer and would ignore tourist like me which look damn local like them or maybe will not entertain tourist from ASEAN.

This is one of your best options to stay in Riung. Rooms are clean, showers work although there's no hot water. AC was nice considering the heat. Breakfast is ok- we got an omelette, banana pancake and fruit. The WiFi is limited, which the password stresses as it is something like 'dontuseforcallsorvideos'.

Spent 3 nights there. Great place with friendly staffs. They've been very helpful and helped us sorting out some issues we had while there. You can book tours with them too.
Make sure to bring enough cash as ATM almost never working.
