I stayed here over a year ago. The bungalows are very nice, the staff was great, the restaurant served delicious food, the pool is new and well-placed and the island itself is very low-key. Here's a small excerpt from my travel journal about Koh Yao Yai and Thiw Son Resort that hopefully gives you a little flavor of the place:... More

we stayed one week at thiw son beach resort and we had realy a great time there. the resort ist located directly on the beach on the eastcoast of the island in a old tropical garden which higher trees, which spend shadowzones during the strong sunshine. we had a very well decorated wodden doublebed fan bungalow, which was furnished with... Has a good price selection of different type bungalows, compared to other places in the expensive island. The third row is behind the road, but is quiet. The garden is kept luscious and clean and is well designed. Comfortable beach chair with stunning view, also from restaurant and swimming pool. Perfect room service the first couple of days, minimal thereafter.... More

We booked very last minute, seeking off-the-beaten-track accommodations, and we were not disappointed. We did have to change rooms a couple times during our 8 days there, but as I said, we booked on the day we arrived. The beach isn't great for swimming as it is murky and not too appealing. The pool is lovely and clean. Only drawback:... More

We stayed here in Dec 2014 for 7 relaxing nights with my two young children who had a fabulous time. The island is peaceful, relaxing and so far unspoilt. We have visited Thailand on many occasions but not recently and were diappointed to see how commercial other areas had become. The resort is simple, clean and well cared for. The... More

I almost don't want to write this review, as Ko Yoa Yai, as it is at the moment, is perfect, however with the development of major resorts starting around the island, I doubt this little paradise island is going to last forever. We stayed at The Thiw Son Beach Resort for 5 nights from January 3, 2015 after a week... More

We stayed here after 5 nights in Yao Noi, late December. Our room was comfortable, the food was reasonable, same as in most places. Friendly, helpful staff and free wifi. Value for money average as we got better for less later. Recommend staying here as a base and taking a scooter to explore the island and of course the deserted... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights from the 27th of December and our only complaint is we didn't stay longer. The resort and outlook are so beautiful the food is lovely and the staff are excellent. We hesitated about booking here and we would of regretted it so much if we hadn't. This is my third visit to... We chose this resort as the first stop on our honeymoon and weren't disappointed. The resort organized pick up from the airport, onward travel, laundry, moped rental and an island trip and all worked out perfectly. It is small and personal and the view from the resort out to sea amazing - but it's not "luxury" (if what you're looking... More

I would strongly recommend avoiding this one. At first glimpse it appears quite nice. The gardens are lush and, from the outside (and in the photos), it looks like like a quaint little place. However there were several major problems: 1) the beach is not enticing. At high tide there is no beach at all. Just muddy slop. No one... More

“We were staying in A1 and it was great. The same-sized A2 is probably to close to the pool. Go for rooms with AC.”
