As a tour guide, I can say that I've visited some of the most usual and important hotels in the Villa de Leyva, and for sure MasClara is beyond any expectations you may have, and it's also above the other hotels in the area. It shines when it comes to space, design, quality and service, that will make you feel in a beautiful summer home, rather than inside a hotel. in my personal opinion, the best way to enjoy this place is staying at least 2 nights there, so you will also have time to enjoy Villa de Leyva an its touristic atractions.
We stayed at masClara for one night to visit Villa de Leyva, and regret we didn't stay longer. We would very happily come back. The hotel, located in a beautifully renovated finca, is a bit outside of the city but within walking distance providing a peaceful place to feel at home. Rooms Our room was very pleasant: spacious and nicely decorated, with a large and very modern bathroom. A five-star-hotel-level room without the price! Service Service was great. Everyone is so friendly and helpful - following the lead of the lovely couple who owns the hotel - even helping us with our travel arrangements to and from the hotel.
I stayed with my mum for a weekend and it was great specially the service of Andres, Katherine, and Amy. It exceeded my expectations of this luxurious Boutique Hotel. Great breakfast and lovely Spanish design inspiration. I highly recommend it and I will be certainly coming back! Thank you for everything!!!
Last January we made a roundtrip in Colombia. One of the best adresses we had was a stay in MasClara ( Villa de Leyva ) A beautiful equipped house in a lovely garden and spacious rooms ( some have a balcony ), very nicely decorated. The service for breakfast ( on the terrace or in the house )was excellent and very personal. As there is no restaurant in the house the Lady of the house ( Clara ) brought us to the centre of Villa de Leyva to have dinner in one of the restaurants. This is a house to recommend. It is the perfect combination of hospitality, service and luxury. We had a great time, many thanks !
My husband and I spent the weekend in Villa de Leyva. Upon arriving at the MasClara we were greeted warmly by Clara. I would describe the accommodations more like a quaint French Bed and Breakfast, than a hotel. Our room was clean and tidy, and the room decor was very charming. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast of eggs, fresh fruits, breads, coffee, and juice. Clara and her staff interacted with us and made us feel more like family than guests. This little gem is tucked away in the countryside and was certainly a welcome getaway. We most definitely will be returning in the future.
