Staff was helpful and friendly , the room had old smoke smell, with the feeling it was tried to be covered with sprays. cornered Not clean! I had sanitizer from carried covid supplies, good thing . walls are thin , pipes knock and squeal when the shower turns on .. mini fridge sticks and still has, what looks like cigarette burn on top. It was late when we checked in ..and rooms were in short supply. Maybe rooms were better on the upper floors , but do not stay on the bottom .. very dark parking lot in the back .
we had taken the wrong road and had not planned to be staying there. We usually plan ahead !

The Breakfast bag is all sugar and carbs. No protein option s. Resaurant is limited to chicken and spicy options only. Not a great selection. No onsite store or vending machines with healthy options. Thank goodness there are restaurants in the area that provide many options.

On the plus side: nice, accommodating staff, big, bright, air conditioned rooms and location is good.

Ok, so the Days Inn doesn't look the most appealing from the outside, there is a stale smoky odour in the entranceway and there's a steep set of stairs to get up to the first floor, but on the positive side the bedroom was great : it had all the essentials such large TV, clean coffee maker, fridge, microwave, a large closet, a clean comfortable bed, and a nice sofa. Also, the bathroom had excellent cucumber dove shampoo and body wash.
And, the breakfast was fabulous : the dining room itself is a little gem, with excellent mismatched brightly painted kitchen chairs, and homely wooden tables, and there was great spread of continental and cooked items including hard boiled eggs and sausage.
Overall, this is a great place to stay - close to the hospital in Bridgewater and convenient if you've been exploring the Nova Scotia coastal towns - Mahone is only 15 minutes away.

Old, dark, dingy, very outdated motel masquerading as a hotel. I would not even give it a 1 star if I could. Front desk experience was like a military camp being drilled by the drill sergeant about your stay. Breakfast is free but you have to get vouchers for it and you only get them for the day, if your stay is longer, you have to go and get them from front desk every morning.

Rooms smell like the bottom of an ashtray as a casino, very strong smell, and front desk says it's a non smoking place. Also if you are tall, headroom will be an issue for you. Bathrooms are mouldy, firstly cesspools of grime.

I have stayed at classier motels than this one.

On arrival I was asked to leave a $100 deposit on my credit card, despite the fact that the room was prepaid in full. The excuse was to cover any “incidentals”. The hotel has no functioning restaurant or other billable services, so if you don’t want me to run up my incidentals, don’t turn on my phone.

On checkout I stopped by the front desk to make sure my bill was clear, and was told by the front desk agent that they’d have to do a damage check on the room. Damage check??? I’m a woman in her 60s travelling on business, not a member of an 80s rock band.

The agent walked into the room and immediately accused me of burning a candle there. Didn’t ask: accused. No, I had not burned a candle, used air freshener, smoked, vaped, or transgressed their unwritten rules in any way. I *did* point out the grime around the edges of the bathroom floor and the visible mildew on the ironing board cover, but I wasn’t the one who caused those.

Their treatment of guests is outrageous — suspicious and accusatory. I’ll be watching my credit card statement like a hawk.

Response from Guest Relations Management M, General Manager at Days Inn by Wyndham Bridgewater Conference Center
Responded Sep 12, 2022
Dear NLfoodie, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Days Inn by Wyndham Bridgewater Conference Center. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. The preauthorization is a hotel policy for the incidentals. The hotel staff explained that most of hotels have the same policies and called the other hotel & informed you they required $200 for the incidentals when you insisted it was the first time in your 29 years hotel stays and threw your credit card on the reception desk. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns. Sincerely, Shane Park Days Inn Bridgewater fds@eastlink.ca 902-543-7131

Very dated hotel. No elevator, no hand rail in bathtub which is a potential trip hazard.
Rooms doors make a lot of noise when opening or closing.
Overall, very expensive for what your get, namely basic hotel room from the 1970s!!

Arrived late, too late to change hotels. The hotel rooms are old and dingy. One unused plug available to charge devices. King size bed with only one night side table. The lighting is terrible in the rooms. Breakfast is a bag with a muffin(no butter and not fresh), a Costo granola bar and a juice. Don’t ask for a second one, they won’t give it to you (I asked). Restaurant is also closed. Went to the fitness area, also closed. I understand it is Covid, however I have been in other hotels in the province during Covid and this is the worse for amenities. Covid restrictions are very low right now, they should not be advertising breakfast, fitness room or restaurant.Very disappointed and will be staying elsewhere for my next business trip. The room doors are old and rather noisy.

Front desk clerk was rude and disrespectful. Room was advertised as wheelchair accessible, it was not fully accessible. Manager on duty was of no assistance. Eight members in our group, two rooms, desk clerk knew this @ check in and asked each individuals name. The an hour later refused to give out the room numbers to any of us.

Now that we have been home for a couple of days and had some time to look back on our recent stay at your location, I can honestly say 100% I will never be back there. Actually I cannot believe I paid almost $400 to stay there for 2 nights. First off when we went into the room the musty smell took us right in the face, ok one can adjust to that. The next thing was the decorative chair on the room, that had more stains on that then one cared too see, I actually had to flip it over to avoid gagging and getting sick. The next thing was the sour bugs crawling around the floors the whole 2 night stay. Also upon check in found hair in the bath tub. After the first night I was about to take the loss of the second night and try get a hotel elsewhere (had there been rooms at the Best Western I would have left in the middle of the night) The price to stay here nightly should never be over $100 as far as I can see. I guess the other reviews of the place should have turned me around from staying there, but the husband and I just wanted to get away for a couple nights. Needless to stay this will be a getaway we will never forget. I wish there was a way I could fight the room charges or get back my money but sadly I feel I need to take the loss and remember to NEVER book here again.

Like others was very disappointed in the treatment by manager. We booked it as we saw it was pet friendly and then were slapped with a $25 surcharge for a small cat. He was rude and treated us like he was a prison guard not in the hospitality business.
