A warm welcome to a lovely home with good modern facilities comes complete with good food to provide an excellent base to enjoy the stunning island. We had the evening meal option - good value and well worth not having to travel out. The happy hens provided an interesting addition to the lovely view

Not altogether easy to find, this place is well worth looking for. Warm welcome, extremely well appointed rooms. If ordered in advance, supper may be had there and is well worth having: a simple but excellent meal it was! And I mean excellent. The landlady was very well informed about the history and practical information of the place.

Lovely accommodation, warm friendly host, peaceful surroundings and great local people.(Saw the shower mentioned in a previous review - it's not a 'contraption', but designed for easy access for all abilities - just fine for non-wheelchair users too.) Great fresh eggs for breakfast from Linda's beloved hens. Thank you, ladies. While you're on North Uist, try visiting the local museum/cafe... More

Nice and clean, good bed and excellent bathroom & shower, Linda was very chatty and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Location allows you to walk to the sea and dunes, very beautiful area. Dinner - owners cooked us an excellent fish pie which was good value for money and welcoming after a long journey. Great kippers for breakfast. Definately worth... More

My mum and I stayed her for 1 night on our way to South Uist. Linda was friendly but the rooms are decorated in a very 70s way. The duvets were clean but washed many times and very faded colours. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast and we said 9am . We were ready and sorted a bit... More

We stayed three nights in July, staying in a downstairs bedroom, previously occupied by the owners son. The room overall was fine though only an aged computer chair to sit on, not comfortable at all. Breakfasts were very good indeed. Evening meal with a main dish and a pudding, very good value at £14 each per night. You are told... More

Stayed for one night at the Rowan Tree during our trip touring the West Coast. Lovely warm welcome from Linda. Nice, clean and spacious room with large en-suite and tea/coffee making facilities. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again in the future.

Booked Rowan Tree in Skye (Portree Tourist Info) as a last minute change to our travel plans. Glad we did... The B&B was excellent, the bed and facilities excellent and the host, Linda, was an absolute joy - the perfect hostess with bags of enthusiasm and rightly proud of her home. We were privileged indeed to have been allowed to... More

The Rowan Tree is situated in a quiet, isolated location, so if you want to eat dinner out, bear in mind that the nearest place is probably 20-30 minutes away by car. There is a Co-op store nearby that was open until 10 pm. We had a big, spacious, ground floor room with lovely view over fields (room 2) but... More

Linda is a wonderful host and a very professional person with her business...from the check-in to the check-out, she was amazing and breakfast is superb. My husband and I had a 1st class room of a junior-suite size with beautiful views. I wish I could come back soon. Take into consideration that payment is in cash only (no Visa) and... More
