This holiday we stayed at our 3rd RCN campsite, having been 3 years to La Ferme du Latois and 1 to Collines de Castellane, this year it was time to try the Dordogne.

The site is large with offerings of generous pitch sizes to varying ranges of accommodation. However the layout of the site groups pitches and accommodations into separate areas which creates a much more intimate environment.

There are plenty of play areas, zip wire, table tennis, volley ball and playing field for sports. We stayed in a mobile home which was clean, well equipped with covered terrace, furniture and 2 sun loungers, we also had a large garden area. The mobiles are thoughtfully positioned among trees and hedges so you have plenty of privacy.

The pool area was a highlight, more like a small water park, with 4 different slides and a crazy river with 4 separate pools and outdoor gym. There are also 2 fishing lakes on site which kept my dh and ds very happy.

We used the terrace and restaurant a few times, service and food was very good, all the staff are lovely and helpful.

The location of the site was perfect, surrounded by the beautiful Dordogne countryside, a short drive to the very pretty medieval town of Belves and nearby to many of the most must see sites in the Dordogne. We visited Sarlat, Castlenaud, Beynac, Roque - de- Gageac, Domme and of course the 16km canoe trip down the river which was very tiring. Such a wonderful part of France to explore. There is a large supermarket nearby in Siorac for all your shopping needs.

This place is amazing!! Spent 7 nights here in June the site itself is beautiful set in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in a mobile home that had everything we needed. I stayed with my two sons aged 7 and 13. The pools were awesome and the play areas kept my youngest busy. We ate at the restaurant that was perfect the young man who waited on us was very friendly and spoke perfect English. All the staff here are a credit the the place very kind and welcoming. The shop had your basics and fresh bread daily, we took advantage of this it’s a must! There’s a supermarket about 5 mins drive that has everything you need and surrounding towns are just beautiful! I will be returning with my husband. Thank you for making us welcome and I felt so comfortable and safe staying here alone with my children

We hired a 6-person caravan which had plenty of space and a terrace so we could enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner outside everyday… something I would certainly a recommend!
The hosts and staff spoken great English (and Dutch and French), making everything quick, simple and relaxed.
The pools were great, with something for children of all ages.
The only negative point we had was that the local village (Belvés) was not walkable with a pushchair or so, though apparently it was easy on foot to do.
Supermarket and local town are just a short 5 minutes’ drive away

We recommend this park strongly for a family with young children. The site is beautiful and the facilities are good en clean. Also the activities are great. Unique is the great swimming pool and the way the staff of this park treats you gives a warm welcome and the knowledge that they will do everything tot make your visit unforgettable.

Very nice and quiet camping located in a beautiful area, very close to the beautiful town of Belzes in Perigord. The camping is very quiet and green. Swimming pool facilities are amazing (3 pools + one for babies and toboggans/chutes for kids ... and adults ;-)
Unique compared to other campings is the presence of a pond fishing (open to all residents).
Very good lavatory and toilet facilities

We had a large pitch over looking a grass area. Shower and toilet blocks were immaculately clean. Amazing swimming pools for children & adults. Nice restaurant also offering takeaway food. Very friendly staff. Great location to visit the surrounding area. Would definitely
recommend.

We arrived at this lovely campsite intending to stay for just a week but stayed over two as we liked it so much. The pitches are overall a good size especially for a large caravan and awning like ours. Some were fully shaded and others partially shaded by many different trees. The landscaping of the site is lovely with a small lake, a river and plenty of open grass areas for volleyball and football or just sunbathing. The shower and toilet facilities were spotlessly clean, with plenty of hot water and thoughtfully laid out especially for those with young children. The pools were great especially one that was heated for a while and there was no shortage of loungers around all the pools. We didn't eat at the site restaurant but could see it was very popular most evenings. We found the all staff extremely helpful, friendly and polite and they all spoke excellent english, dutch and french. Tim, the manager of the site, was extremely helpful when our car broke down on the day we arrived. He went out of his way to do anything to help us which was amazing and we are very grateful for. The site is a welcoming tranquil retreat on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Belves. There are plenty of places to visit in this area all less than an hours drive, castles, chateaux, gardens and caves, river trips and lovely restaurants.

We stayed here end of July/beginning of Aug and expected it to be busy but it was heaving. The pitches are a good size but fairly close together.
Due to the business of the site, we did have to wait a couple of times for showers or to wash up. These facilities were clean and nice, however.
The restaurant had a good menu but was full every night of our two week stay, so booking was essential. The food was good but pricey for a campsite.
The swimming pool area is excellent and our two children spent hours using all four pools and slides. I will say that towels were out early on sun loungers and not enough chairs or loungers.
We did the usual stuff associated with the Dordogne river and had a great time.
The campsite is Dutch owned so we expected a lot of Dutch but we were the only non-Dutch on the whole site for 13 of the 14 nights of our stay, it did feel little like not being in France but ‘Little Holland’. Nevertheless we had a good time.

We have just come back from a month in France and stayed at this site for almost 3 weeks. This is the third time we have visited this site and we really like it.

The booking: I emailed and requested a particular pitch, that pitch was not available but they sent me a list of 8 others in that same row and we chose one - no booking fee because we had been before and we did not have to tell them exact date of leaving just a rough guide and they booked us in for 3 weeks.

Arrival: because we had been before and knew where to go it only took a couple of minutes to book in, however, they are very thorough if you are there for the first time and give you all the information you need.

Toilet facilities: always clean with lashings of hot water, lovely modern toilet blocks. Just one niggle: I use the disabled facility and this year it was cold in there and the heater on the wall did not work.

Washing etc: we did not use the laundry this time but have used in the past and it is fine.

Wash up: we have always used the wash up in the past but here they don't have washing up bowls and they don't have plugs in the sinks so it felt like we were wasting water. Not to worry thought because we had a tap on our pitch so we 'washed up at home'.

Playgrounds: we don't have children but were camped opposite the playing field and playground which are both very well used. We enjoyed watching the games on the field even the children that had a light up shuttlecock and continued to play after dark! One question though - why is it that tiny tots would rather throw gravel down the slide than go down themselves? That sound will stay with us all winter!

Pool complex: here is my one negative - this camp site has two shallow pools with slides and a small paddling pool for tiny tots as well as a SWIMMING pool that is 1. 7 metres deep. WHY then do parents insist on taking tiny babies into the SWIMMING pool when others are trying to swim? Also, WHY even though they have CCTV and rules about no inflatables in the SWIMMING pool does the camp site not do anything about it? It is very annoying when you are trying to swim to have people with babies 'playing' and jumping in! There is also however, another side to this and that is the safety of those babies. Some of the things we saw parents doing with tiny babies and toddlers in such deep water doesn't bear thinking about! There you are rant over!

Our pitch: large pitch for our large caravan, we had enough room to have our sun canopy out front and still grass in front of that with our car parked to the side. There is electricity on every pitch (are you reading this Camping Club)? There is also water on most of the pitches. These are classed as standard pitches and do not carry any supplement.

Restaurant: as a Dutch owned site you will find a lot of traditional Dutch fare on the menu and take away, not to everyone's taste but they also have pizzas on the menu and take away and they have special events. We went to the end of season 'surprise buffet' and it was brilliant with pork kebabs, sausages, chicken satay, tuna salad and numerous other salads, potato scallops, fries, a special Dutch stew, pate and cheese. People were going up to the table time and time again and I have never seen so much food!

Area: the beautiful Dordogne, what more can I say? You will love Belves itself a beautiful town on top of a hill but you should also visit the Bastide towns of Monpazier, Beaumont and Domme and the villages that cling to the rocks of Beynac and Le Roque Gageac. Go to Bergerac for a river cruise rather than these villages as you can see more from the boat. The markets are great but always difficult to park! Best local market to this location is at St Cyprien on Sunday mornings. Last but certainly not least you must not miss the town of Sarlat with it's medieval centre and the best meal to have for lunch is the Salad Perigourdine (sans gesiers if you don't like gizzards)!

Re the 'value for money' we were using camping cheques so not sure what they charge normally.
