I just can't say enough great things about this gorgeous campsite and only wish we could have stayed longer! It is beautifully maintained and is exactly what it says in the title - totally calm and enveloped in gorgeous nature. We reserved a pitch for 1 night (all they had available) and were lucky enough to stay right next to the stream and animals where our daughters spent hours playing very happily. The toilets are clean, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, the pitches are generous and shady, and the view from the bar/restaurant area is stunning especially at sunset. And the stars at night are amazing!! One of our best campsite experiences in France. Castellane is beautiful and worth a visit - there's also a massive Casino supermarket to stock up. Also the drive the opposite way along the D952 to the Gorges du Verdon is truly stunning, not to be missed.…
What a lovely campsite! We spent eight nights in our tent down by the stream, enjoying mornings filled with bird song and watching the donkey and goats amble by (on the other side of the stream!) Bear in mind you have to go up a couple of flights of steps to the sanitary block if you camp at the bottom but we thought the setting was well worth the effort. The area by the bar is a great place to enjoy an early evening drink and the wine there is very reasonably priced. We soon got into the habit of visiting at the end of each day. Basic meals are available too. It is easy to get into Castellane - a very pleasant 20-25 minute walk or 10 minute cycle ride. We had our own bikes but there are bikes to borrow at the site. Although the path follows the river and is therefore flat, the campsite is up a hill and we did have to push our bikes home for the last stretch. It's only for a short distance, though. There is a restaurant, "Les Terrasses de la Salaou," less than a 10 minute walk from the campsite which serves reasonable food. Opening times vary throughout the year but it was only shut on Mondays and Tuesdays when we were here. The owners of Camping Calme et Nature are friendly and helpful and clearly care about the site, working very hard to maintain high standards.Their attitude contributed to a very happy and memorable stay.…
We stayed at this site for 3 nights with our VW Campervan Daisy. Bruno was extremely helpful and him and his colleagues speak great English. Bar and bread available onsite. Toilets and showers very clean and toilet roll provided which is always a bonus! Quiet site and the views are wonderful. 5 minute cycle into Castellane. There are campsites which are closer however you don't get the amazing views and as the weather was bad we noticed a lot of the sites were flooded but no such problem on this site. Would highly recommend - thank you for a great stay in a beautiful area! PS. The honey was delicious!
We stayed here for just under 2 weeks. And we loved it. It was quiet and beautiful. The owner Bruno and his staff are friendly and do their best to make your stay great one. Bruno is honest and straight forward, the way we like it. The place is ran with a lot of love and passion, and it shows. They place looks amazing and is kept clean. So if you are looking for a nice quiet place wich is beautifull this it!
We booked the family chalet for 2 nights for end of June 2018. On the first night, as we were doing a trip through Provence, we realized that we were going to arrive later than 7pm at the camping site (check in time was between 2pm-7pm) so we called the property number. The owner, almost yielling on the phone, said that a later check in is not possible and that the camping will be closed by the time we arrive. We accepted that and we looked for another accommodation for one night .In the meantime, I tried to cancel the booking using the waive fee option, but I received a message saying that the cancellation is not possible and the reservation is maintained within the same term and conditions. As we knew we had one night left at the family chalet , we drove 300 km to the Calme et Nature camping site - but surprise- when we arrived the owner informed us that the reservation is cancelled and he already gave the chalet to someone else (we discover later on that this was a lie, as the chalet was empty for the night). As it was peak season, we had no other option but to pay for additional 2 camping tents and sleeping in bad conditions for the night. Therefore, we paid additional money for sleeping in a tent after being charged 2 nights in the family chalet where the owner didn't give us the right to stay in. All in all, a very unpleasant experience due to the rude and unprofessional behaviour of the owner - Bruno, despite the good location and good facilities of the camping. What a shame!…
