We were booked to camp here for three nights in August. We were arriving late in the pouring rain and I called and they were able to accommodate us in a cabin. We arrived and they were closed but had left a note on the door telling us which cabin and where the washrooms were. They even left a light...

Rented cabin #1. Not much more than a shed. Exposed wiring, no heat, no stove, no bathroom, no bedding. Was very cold at night. Only one glaring spotlight to light the interior. No appeal to the plastic cover on the mattress or the beaten up futon with the tired looking bedspread hiding it. Not expensive but not great.

Camping cabins are very basic. They offer a CLEAN, dry, inexpensive alternative to tenting.

We were staying at at a self catering place in Bay St Lawrence, approx 20 minutes away from here, where there was only one local eating option - mainly deep fried take away stuff. We were keen to find an alternative so followed the signs to this campground oyster market in the hope we could buy some oysters. Cut a...

Stayed at this campground in August 2016 while traveling with my family in Cape Breton. Take the Cabot Trail from the western side of the island clockwise to Dingwall. You will be glad you did. Cabin #4, #6 and the Lighthouse Cabin have the best views and boy do I mean THE BEST!!! Don't forget to go to the beach!!!...

Highly recommending hideaway campground. And surely buy some oysters from the owners who farm them, best oysters of the trip. We liked the private bathrooms here, could use more cleaning, but it was so busy understandable. Laundry facility and wifi were great. Tent sights were wooded, avoid the tent spots in the overflow bc no trees for protection. Great dish...

I loved this place! From the excellent service, the incredible views, the clean cabin and the most delicious oysters I have ever eaten in my life as well as the most affordable lobster dinners, we were in heaven here! Hope to come back here on day. By far the most beautiful campground I've seen to date!

We loved our stay at Hideaway! Amazing views, clean bathrooms, great service. :) you won't be disappointed :) it's a long drive out there but, it's a good halfway point between the 2 sides of the highland national park. We would book again :) plan to stay for several nights!

Located in Dingwall, at the top of the Cabot Trail, this campground was a great half-way stop on our way through Cape Breton. As someone noted the bathrooms could use a little attention. They are individual bathrooms, so not sure why they are labeled male/female. The showers had wooden floors and were $1 for a 2 minutes. We didn't have...

This is a lovely privately owned campground with a great view of the Highlands. Most sites were lightly wooded. Bathroom facilities could use extra attention with more frequent cleanings. They have serviced lots and you can order a seafood meal at the office.
