We stayed here in a tent as part of a road trip from Ontario to Nova Scotia, and we had a lovely stay. There was a mixture of tents and RVs, as well as a few small cabins that looked very comfortable and cosy. There is also a huge sandy beach within walking distance (~20 minutes walk) that we had...

The owners are wonderful people. We initially had to cancel because we thought were on the wrong side of the island! Turns out we were on the right side and ended up staying there but she cancelled the booking free of charge! It's a great view too!

Stopped for lunch. Fresh lobster and oysters. Can't beat the prices plus friendly family service. Lobster was caught within 24 hours and the oysters homegrown. Worth the trip, great stories and incredible views. (You can always tell the cleanliness of a restaurant by its bathrooms - impeccable.)

Really nice view, workers & other guests camping close by were very friendly. Very quiet campground which is nice. Cabin is basic but very clean. 1$ for 5 minutes in the shower, wifi is only at the office which you cannot reach from your camp site. Alcohol had to be served with food only, which was false advertisement. We found...

We went all the way to Aspy Bay to try out their famous oysters (not to stay at their campground or cabins --although good alternatives to staying elsewhere)! Local person said that these people ship their oysters out to New York for a premium price and are known for their Aspy Bay oysters. No oysters for us on our visit...

In the fall of 2014 we were looking into camping here for our 2015 Trip, but once our itinerary was done we couldn't seem to fit it in as we were staying in the National Parks. Well lucky for us, Cheticamp campground was closed due to flooding. I called Hideaway and they were able to get us a spot. Site#23......

As we were driving in search of a campsite one night we were intrigued by an amazing view of what looked like marsh lands in the ocean. When we went kayaking the next day, a 5 minute drive from the Hideaway we discovered phenomenal beauty of the south harbor and realized that it led to the place that we had...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights mid September 2015 and were really please with the campsite and fantastic views. We opted for a non-serviced site (#36) which gave us a fantastic view of the sea. It wasn't crowded during our stay but even if fuller the campsites are generously spaced so you won't feel crowded. The restrooms...

Arrived in the early evening after a long drive from PEI. Took site 1 which had full hookups. After breakfast the next morning, took a walk up the hill and realized we had to change sites. The view was absolutely incredible. Aspy Bay oysters were delicious.

I'm usually skeptical with staying at private campgrounds because of some bad experiences in the past. I've camped throughout Canada, usually at provincial or national parks. However, Hideaway Campgrounds was one of the most enjoyable stays on my trip out east. Very private campsites, fantastic view & friendly staff/owners, located within a decent proximity to the highway. The only concern...
