The MacLeods welcomed us in their home. Alfred & Kathleen are the best hosts that you could ever ask for. We stayed in a one bedroom with a bathroom. We only stayed one night and I wish it could have been longer. We came back after exploring Cape Breton Highlands and Kathleen had made a cake. We sat in the...

On their webpage and in their dining room they are considered a 4 star Select Canada but I was disappointed. We spent 3 nights here and was very surprised that this place was rated what they were. The B&B is very clean, immaculate in fact, but they are missing the important details of a higher quality B&B in my opinion....

The MacLeods welcomed us into their home, inviting us to enjoy their comfortable living room before showing us to our spotless bedroom and private bath. The nearest restaurant was closed that evening so Kathleen made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant that we never would have found on our own. The room and bath had small night lights available...

This B&B deserves a 5 star rating. We stayed in 15 different B&B's on our 3 1/2 week visit to Eastern Canada and of the 15 we have picked this as our #1 B&B to stay at. Alfred & Kathleen are the best hosts that you could ever ask for. We stayed in "The White Birch" room and it has...

You'll look far and wide to find nicer people than Kathleen and Alfred. My wife and I spent two nights in their meticulous home. You're in the middle of nowhere but that's why you came here. They share a wealth of knowledge about the area(being born and raised in the area) and can suggest things to see. We attended a...

We spent two nights at Country Haven during our drive round the trail. Its very easy to find as good signage on trail and great location as you can walk to a good shop and there is a place to eat round the corner as well. We had the room at the back entrance where you leave your shoes and...

We stayed at Kathleen and Alfred's lovely B and B in Cape North while my husband cycled the Cabot Trail and I drove. We expected: a clean room, an en suite bathroom and a hot breakfast, as their website mentioned. What we got was all that, and then some! When I read any negative reviews of Country Haven, I am...

I got such enjoyment from reading it and thanks for the tip re the poker face! You were bang on there! Everyone tells me I should never play poker! I truly enjoyed your...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Kathleen and Alfred's lovely home. They are the most welcoming hosts and treated us like family. The suite was beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast ,prepared by Alfred ,was delicious. The couple gave us pointers on things to see and scenic drives to take. Kathleen took us to the Cape North Museum-a real...

Country Haven is a beautiful bed & breakfast. Hosts Kathleen and Alfred MacLeod were very welcoming and hospitable and our room and bed was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Wonderful hosts. Immaculately clean, comfortable bedrooms with nice sheets and pillows and ceiling fan. Large, clean, modern, private bathrooms. Bathrobes hanging in spacious closet. Simple but expertly cooked breakfast. Quiet. Large sitting room with gas fireplace, large, comfortable furniture. Simply a delightful 2 night stay. Hosts taught us a game called Cross Crib which was fun. Highly recommend this B&B.
