I was drawn to this hotel by its favourable reviews, location and reports about the town itself. We were slightly disappointed though, to be given a room in the annex at the back of the hotel, but it was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The hotel's position in the square is very attractive-close to some of the monuments and next... More

An unplanned overnight stop which was just right. A comfortable room which was clean and everything worked - it was perfect. Right in the town centre it was surprisingly very quiet. parking is opposite in the town square - it is controlled by a "blue "zone but is free from 6pm to 9am, so no real problem. The restaurant was... More

Very nice hotel and restaurant in a pretty town. A short but pleasant stay for a business trip with colleagues and local contractors. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and its gets my 4 stars!

Having stayed at this hotel several times previously, I booked in early May direct (by email) with the Manager for a night in late June. Initially it was good to know that having a drive of 450 miles that day that we would have somewhere to stay. However, upon arrival the hotel was double-booked, completely full and due to 3... More

While travelling from Calais to Beziers we were looking for a nice place to stop for a break in the journey and a good night's sleep. This hotel / town matched our requirements perfectly. Beautiful old hotel with big rooms overlooking the central square in the town. Restaurant food quality was excellent. The town itself was a revelation - being... More

Not much choice in Verneuil but would stay here again. The room was typically French with some old furniture but comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Proper old fashioned lock on the door and they give you a key to get back in after 10pm as well. Ate in one night and the restaurant was distressingly empty.......at first. By the time... More

Made a one night stop over whilst traveling around France. The Hotel is situated in an excellent location right on the large main sqaure which has an added bonus of free and plentiful car parking. We had room No. 8 which had double french windows through which you could step out onto a balcony which overlooked the square. The room... More

We had a sneak preview of this place by driving into Verneuil-sur-Avre on our way south prior to a week in Aveyron before arriving for a Sunday night stay on the way home, so we knew that it was impressively situated in the town's main square, with flower-filled balconies and a good, solid traditional feel. There was a bit of... More

We stayed at this hotel some years ago as it is well located for our frequent trips between s.w. France and Calais, avoiding Paris. They seem to have made improvements to the rooms and ours was very good quality for a French 2* with nice decor, an excellent shower room, usual loo in a cupboard but all new and non... More

We stayed at the Hotel du Saumon after receiving a Smartbox gift. We wanted somewhere reasonably close to Versailles. This hotel was superb. The position in the town square is great, so central and a bustling town. The staff were attentive and very welcoming. The food in the restaurant was of superb quality. Rooms were very comfortable and had everything... More
