I stayed with my family and friends for 2 weeks in the Ostello that is located in the old town of Amelia, the service was amazing the rooms and bathrooms are always clean, the breakfast and dinner were always perfect, and some nights they offered us the dinner in the piazza cause there were festivals in Amelia, not to forget that the owners are extremely friendly, helpful and nice.

I have stayed at Ostello Giustiniani with my family, and I can assure that stay was marvelous. First, the staff is so friendly and helpful and they guided us to make the best of our stay. They made us feel home and part of the beautiful family that directs the hostel. We now miss them! Second, the cleanliness is very well kept. Third, although a hostel, its organization gives privacy to the clients. As for the hostel building, it is old but very well kept and reflects the medieval surrounding. As for the location, it is exquisite as the hostel is located at the heart of the fantastic medevial village of Amelia. We were fortunate as our stay coincided with the medieval festival that takes place every year between mid July and mid August. That helped us go back in time and get a taste of the medieval Umbria. The food is decent and freshly prepared. Eating at the hostel gives the traveler a real taste of homemade Italian food as savoured by the Italians rather that was much better and cheaper than the tourist meals at a restaurant. I can say that the stay and food is good value for money. The asset of staying in Amelia is that it is an hour drive from Rome and from Florence and is surrounded by many other small but beutiful medieval towns. I recommend that hostel to families and group of friends travelling together as they will feel comfortable and at home in Italy!

We spent three nights in Amelia, a beautiful hilltop town in Umbria. After a somewhat steep climb, we arrived at the Youth Hostel, located in one of the most spectacular medieval buildings. Vaulted ceilings, thick walls and ancient doors and all! We had a private room, simply decorated but effective and with a baby bed for our little one. The bathroom and showers are semi-private (to be used with a key). We were impressed by the location and the value for money but mostly blown away by the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. They really helped us with everything, always ready with a smile and kind words. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning and also three-course dinners prepared upon our request. A memorable stay!
