We loved this spot, stayed for 3 nights with the all inclusive option. Food was excellent - and no shortage of it-, delivered quickly to dine in our room due to Covid restrictions (main dining room was closed). Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed extra things for the room e.g. a duvet etc. Room was modern & relatively clean - we found an old hair curler under the bed which made us wonder how clean it was though... No kettle for tea in between meals was inconvenient and we had to ask for small dining table for the room (were we supposed to eat our meals on the floor/bed?) I felt somewhat frustrated that despite paying a premium price for many activities which could no longer happen due to Covid, the resort ignored an e-mail request to check in earlier and on the day of departure they only accommodated one extra hourfor our stay even though nobody was staying in our room that night. It is not the resort's fault that restrictions are in place but I feel they could soften the blow at least by offering us some extra time in the room if not by a small discount since they have of course reduced costs for cocktail classes, cookie decorating workshops and all sorts of other cancelled activities. They also charged me $40 for build-a-bear instead of the quoted $25 on the activity booklet, they did not mention the outfit was extra. Overall a great place but a bitter taste left in our mouths due to the premium price for extras that didn't materialize. During Covid, rather go somewhere where you don't pay a premium for recreational activities.…
We stayed here on a limb due to a power outage affecting our original place of stay. We wanted a room that was equipped with a jaccuzi tub and kitchen. We booked online but upon arrival did not get the room we anticipated. The room was ready though several hours before check in time. As we were only there for one night we saved the $20 extra for the room we wanted and just dealt with it. Do NOT pay to have your meals included. It will cost less to pay for them separately on your own. The room was clean and cozy. Beds were comfortable. Fireplace was not easy to operate but we finally had someone look at it and get it working for us. The room beside us was occupied and we could hear their voices and tv as the room could offer conjoining accommodation. Right outside our room was a swingset which was used by other guests during our stay (leaving us feeling lack of privacy on our back deck). Room was right in front of a train track, but parking conveniently right outside our front door. We bought a smores kit from the front desk which they make themself. Enough for about 4-6 smores for a total of $7.50 -too pricy for my liking. The food options were good once we discovered we had only been originally given 1 of 2 menus. It was good food but small portions for the high costs. Price for one night last minute for a basic room should not have been almost $300.00 and the vibe of the place did not feel like a resort. Good place to stay for a night away but one stay to say we've been there is enough for us.…
Yes, it is a lovely and historic location, and has been going through many recent changes and challenges. However, is it worth the drive for a celebratory dinner? The plus is in the view and the service, which was prompt and friendly. Flocks of geese flew in and the water was shimmery at sunset. The food, to be frank, was passable but not to the standard I expected. OK, for the price, it is not fine dining, but portions, seasoning and presentation were mediocre. And there were only three choices. We chose the lamb and chicken. My partner said my home versions of both are far better. I know how hard cooking is, and I have the time to do it right - just saying, don’t expect too much from this kitchen.
We ented 5 bedroom apartment to stayed 3 night in this hotel, it was very bad experiance the mattress cover sheet was dirty and a lot on bug on it. A lot of issue found on hotal that need maintenance. The toilet was dirty that not cleaned all. The flush does not work. And most important that we found two mouses inside the building. It takes two days to send somebody to put the trap. I am not recommend this place to anybody.
Due to so many travel restrictions, we decided to stay in Ontario for our vacation. We spent a few nights in our own cottage at Bayview Wildwood. The accommodations were excellent. We had 2 bedrooms, a family room and kitchen. We brought our own breakfast and lunch but ate dinner in the dining room. The food was delicious! We were comfortable eating inside as their protocols were excellent. We enjoyed the various amenities. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The only minor issue are the freight trains that run very close to the property. It is out of the resort’s control, but we were woken up a few times by trains passing through. All in all it was a great vacation.
