We had a memorable stay at Shamrock Bay Resort in Muskoka, a place that combines the stunning natural beauty of its surroundings with a tranquil yet vibrant atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for families, offering a wide range of activities ensuring that everyone finds something enjoyable to do. The cottage was a delight, not just for its cleanliness and comfort but also for its lovely fire pit and the spacious sunroom which was perfect for enjoying the outdoors, rain or shine.
One of the highlights of our stay was taking a Pontoon boat ride along the Trent-Severn Waterway, where the serene and breathtaking views of Muskoka from a different angle were simply unforgettable. Treating ourselves to the delicious Kawartha Dairy ice cream at the Welcome Center added a sweet touch to our adventures. Additionally, the close proximity of Gravenhurst and Orillia to the resort expanded our options for exploration and enjoyment. Reflecting on the experience, Shamrock Bay Resort truly felt like a hidden gem within Muskoka, offering a unique blend of peaceful relaxation and exciting activities, making it a must-visit destination for those looking to explore this beautiful region.

This Resort has been under new management since 2023 and they have turned this place around. The first thing they did was stop allowing owners to privately rent which was the main reason they got bad reviews. This is an exclusive park model resort now and kept in immaculate condition. From the attention to detail by the property team to the amenities being well kept. You have to see this place showing the possibilities for a high end resort cottage experience.

This is a really nice resort to visit with family. Also great for couples, as it offers great facilities including heated pools, boating etc. Ideally located with full service cottages with great amenities. Ideally located in Muskoka, it is right in between Gravenhurst and Orillia, with great activities close by. Highly recommended.

Our son rented Unit 74 from Galina (Vladimirskaia) Hall for $1,800.00 from Aug. 28 - Sept. 4, 2022. He could not make it and told us (2 people) to go. We arrived Sunday evening and was extremely disappointed, disturbed and disgusted with the condition of the unit. The mattress cover and mattress on the Queen size bed were soiled, disgusting and unsanitary, broken microwave, no handle to the fridge, stove and oven had not been cleaned, coffee grinds were left in the coffee maker from a previous tenant, couch was unsanitary and uncomfortable, and inside was dingy throughout. We told Galina about the mattress cover and she said "just take it off". Galina (who resides across the street from the unit) is extremely impersonable , rude and abrupt. No sheets, towels, toilet paper and garbage bags provided. We stayed less that 3 days and left. We asked Galina for a reasonable rebate and she said "No". Beware of Unit 74 and Galina.

Was a resident at Shamrock Trailer Park from 1992 until it was turned into a 'Resort' which is just a fancy name for trailers with shingle roofs. Great Blue Resorts who purchased the park/resort a few years ago has no interest in the unit owners' happiness or experience, but merely in money. Every possible thing that can be charged for is, and prices keep going up. There is no store for things like bread, milk, groceries, the small welcome centre has coffee, pop, chips, smoothies & cones, and closes before 6 and sometimes earlier. Docks are under water for May, and often the entire Severn River floods in the spring to make many trailer inaccessible. Still there is no refund in fees to these occupants. It is easy to buy into the park, but there is no site that pays less than $5,000 per year fees, and many with water view or on the water pay $10,000 to $15,000. Plus if you have a boat, $1,000 and up for dock, and all with additional HST added. PLUS.....when you go to sell.. It is a nightmare to get out of this park/resort. It is an $8,000 plus HST transfer fee. Did you get that!!!!! And your trailer depreciates the minute you buy it. It does not go up in value like a house, but down like a car. And the paperwork is crazy, the corporate persons you must deal with are not kind or sympathetic to you, but on alert for the corporation and their jobs. So buy today, and if you need to leave tomorrow, it will cost you $8,000 plus $300 administration fee, plus HST. If you are dumb enough to consider getting into this park, ask the salesman what the cost is to get out. If they tell you otherwise, ask them to get head office to put your exit terms in writing or run as fast as you can. Avoid the heartache and heartbreak. Personally I came close to nervous breakdown to get out and I am just to grateful to be free of the tangled web they wove.

The people that complain are actually making up stories especially when comes to renting and for being white to be able to stay at the resort. Please stop looking for problems when there are none. My husband is Jamaican and purely black and he is very welcome to the resort.
Luv this place and will continue to do so. Thanks to the grate management like Alison and Pam and everyone else.

We rented cottage #74 in mid-July 2023 for 2 nights for $600 from Galina. When we arrived, we were extremely disappointed with the condition of the cottage. The microwave was damaged and fixed with duct tape and the fridge door handle was ripped off. The mattresses were stained and the 1-2 blankets and pillows within the unit were unwashed and dirty. The cottage had no sheets, dish towels, cleaning supplies, or garbage bags, and the host didn’t even provide bare minimum essentials like dish soap and toilet paper. The cottage does not provide Wi-Fi despite saying it does on Trip Advisor (the resort does at the Welcome Centre) and the satellite tv didn’t work.
A review from August 2022 stated the same issues down to the microwave and missing fridge handle, so despite being aware of these issues the host is choosing not to address them.
The host also has in the rental agreement that guests will clean the cottage along with a $200 cleaning deposit if the unit is not returned in its “original state”. Given the state of the cottage and its lack of cleanliness, it’s clear that the host, instead of hiring professional cleaners, relies on guests to maintain the unit to save money and turn a profit. This is incredibly hazardous; hosts need to be taking additional steps for enhanced cleaning and disinfection of their vacation rentals to reduce the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses and ensure the safety of their guests.
When we left Sunday, we saw new guests arrive a couple of hours afterwards and there was no cleaning/disinfection between our stays, so it is safe to assume that the bedding provided is rarely, if ever, washed.
I would caution anyone against staying here, the price point does not align with the “quality” of your stay. I hope that the host takes these reviews seriously and addresses the concerns and works on their customer service – communicating with your guests before, during, and after your stay to hear about their experience and asking for feedback goes a long way. The cottage has a lot of potential, and with some care, enhanced cleaning of the unit, and personalized touches (toilet paper, dish soap, cleaning supplies, décor, welcome card with important information, Wi-Fi, etc.) it would be a great vacation rental.
