Apart from the (fairly) noisy bar until 10 or so this is a lovely place to stay with big bright rooms and a great view over the lake from your balcony. Nice fish dishes also. Toss up between putting airco on or leaving sliding door open for lake breeze. A few mozzies though so be prepared

This is an excellent hotel with decent food. Friendly staff and good service. Food of our choice is prepared fresh and served. Quite a relaxing view from the room. The only drawback I could see is that restaurant space has to be expanded so that it can accommodate more guests with some privacy.

One of the few places in TZ where most things do actually work - very friendly and capable staff, shower with good water pressure, fast wifi, library with a good selection of books, firm mattress, variety of TV channels, nice breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. However, the rooms are quite noise sensitive - you can hear the TV and...

I had another great visit to the Mwanza area in January 2017. Stayed at Ryan's Bay again -my 3rd time- and had a most comfortable, uneventful stay. I say uneventful which is what one, coming from North America would appreciate. If you didn't know that you were looking out at Lake Victoria from your room, you might think that you...

A hotel in an idyllic location, in a beautiful city. I had an fantastic view of Lake Victoria from my clean & spacious room, the food in the restaurant is fantastic and the staff are all helpful and friendly. The wi-fi connection is great, I was able to skype with no problem. The only slight gripe I have is with...

Although the property is very good quality for where it is situated, I booked this hotel for a group of investors that we were accompanying around Tanzania. To my abject mortification and even-though I had booked on line, received emailed confirmation and provided credit card details - 4 of the 5 rooms booked were NOT AVAILABLE on arrival. We had...

Recently enjoyed a great night and meal at Ryans bay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food selection was excellent, something for everyone, the portion size was massive (so do share if you are not a big eater) and the food came super quickly. It is a great spot looking out onto the lake. Definitely worth a visit when...

I stayed at Ryan's Bay for 8 days whilst doing some voluntary work in Bugando. The hotel is clean, efficient and safe. Security is obvious. The restaurant provides a good breakfast and a reasonable menu for dinner. The tilapia fish was excellent but the highlight was the chefs home special of Goan fish curry. Great flavours. The swimming pool was...

I find myself coming back to this spot over and over. Mwanza. 25 years ago, a laid back town on the shores of lake Victoria, now bustling and growing into the new port to Serengeti safaris through ndabaka gate. Walking distance to the old centre and ever interesting market, Ryan's bay is an escape, safe and luxurious, clean and as...

Very comfortable room and ambient restaurant and pool area on the edge of and overlooking Lake Victoria. Good Food in the restaurant at reasonable prices with the curry dishes being a highlight. Very pleasant pool to relax in in the heat.
