This is a beautiful hotel in a palace, nicely furnished with old furniture and centrally located. The rooms were clean. The inside restaurant is in a beautiful dinning hall with beautiful furniture. It was sad that the staff had little time to change the tablecloths or wipe the sticky salt and pepper dispensers. The outside eating area is in a...

When I called on a Saturday to change the reservation date I got the office instead of reception. The office was closed that day. Front desk number is not found easily. When I requested one tea in room 101 and one in 102, two teas were sent to 101 and none to 102 (as I found out later). Due to...

The hotel was built in 1859 as a residence for the ruler of Bhavnagar. Here, so far, everything breathes history. The building is preserved in excellent condition. Clean, comfortable rooms. Great service. Wonderful, friendly staff. Great food. In such places, I want to come back!

Staying in the former first home of Bhavnagar's royalty brought to mind a colonial mindset. The hotel is very affordable by western standards so much of the opulence like the courtyard fountains no longer operate. But walking the same steps as the king and staying in the same rooms as the family is pretty cool. The sitting areas are quite...

Attention to detail in maintenance and decor is very good. Much as the Marharini would have had. The grounds are filled with birds and the outside restaurant is beautiful at night. The service is good although English can occasionally be misunderstood. It's value for money and worth 2 nights to appreciate the style of old. I would return.

We went to the hotel for lunch... It's a beautiful palace.. though they don't encourage you to take pictures.. Food is good, we had non vegetarian food which was done very nicely. The only thing I didn't like was the table cloth, place mats were all soiled.. The glasses used to serve was of very basic quality, I mean if...

Good break from the big cities. You can hear only the birds chirp and the wind blowing through the tress and bougainvillea creepers. It's a well maintained mini palace. Rooms are large and airy. It's not a five or four star accommodation, its a chance to stay in a royal palace as if it were your own home. Staff is...
