I decided to visit the Elora Gorge as well as the town of Elora. Initially this property was shown as sold out. I called the property directly and was advised there had been a cancelation and 1 room was available. The property is well located within walking distance of the Elora Gorge and downtown Elora. It is a family owned/ run motel which appears to have been recently renovated. The room was very clean, well appointed with fridge/ microwave, nice TV, a desk and chair to do work/ eat .Washroom was very clean with sufficient toiletries/ towels etc. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lounge chair. I had a restful night with no disturbances from other guests. While breakfast is not included there is fresh coffee/ orange juice/ bananas/ granola bars complimentary. There is a Tim Hortons/ Subway/ Chinese restaurant and grocery store available nearby. My room did face the road but it was pretty quiet at night with just a little noise in the morning…
Room was your typical, basic accommodations. A bit old-fashioned. Sink was plugged; nobody came to unplug it. Toilet seat was broken; nobody fixed it. Difficulty getting towels and toilet paper from staff. Apparently, they were short on towels, and asked why we needed more towels (felt very guilty asking for anything). Upon arriving back to our room our first night (with DO NOT DISTURB sign on outside door). Staff came into our room, left towels on our dirty bedspread. From experience, nobody should come into our room. PERIOD. Sign on door. They should have left towels outside our room, in plastic bag). How do I even know a mask was worn, or worse yet something gone missing. I called front desk immediately, and management argued with me when I tried to explain about the DO NOT DISTURB sign, and that nobody should have entered our room.…
We stayed here for one night after spending a day in Elora. The inn is very clean and very quiet and within short walking distance to Elora downtown. We found the room and bathroom very clean and do not really understand why others' review re the slippery issue about. I guess the inn has has been updated recently. For the room rate, we found it very reasonable.
Stayed one night. This is VERY clean, comfortable and quiet little motel, and the most reasonably priced. It has been updated. Family owned business. Nice people. We had a room on first floor and was able to park our car right outside the patio door, so easy access to bring your bags in and go to the car if you forget something. A short 10 min walk to the Main Street You won’t be disappointed staying at this place.
This is a very basic hotel that it's only saving grace is it's location somewhat downtown. The bathrooms need updating and the shower/tub combo is deadly, very slippery and you had to hold on to the hand rail. They charged a lot of money for a basic room, not worth it stay somewhere else.
The Village Inn is a no frills accommodation in Elora. My husband and I stayed for one night during a spontaneous fall roadtrip. The room was clean and more or less comfortable. (The bed was a bit hard and a little squeaky). The jetted tub was nice. The location is convenient. Walkable to downtown and an easy drive to nearby attractions. Would recommend for a one night stay but not an extended vacation.
The Village Inn is a nicely renovated hotel, within walking distance to downtown Elora. We asked for a quiet room and were given a room facing the back of the hotel, which was good to reduce traffic noise. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had a fridge and microwave. The a/c & heater unit appeared to be an all of nothing type on/off switch. You didn't set a temperature, there was just a dial for hot or cold. It didn't seem to turn off at all, so it was difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature in the room. One suggestion would be for the hotel to upgrade to nicer shower heads, especially after doing a good job renovating the rooms/washrooms. The price was very good, and I'd definitely consider coming back again for a weekend trip.
We had a 2 night stay in Elora to attend a wedding this past weekend (Jan.10/11 2020). The Village Inn exceeded all of our expectations. Peter, the owner, was pleasant and courteous and ensured that our stay was enjoyable. The two storey facility was very clean and newly renovated although the online photos do not do it justice as they have not been updated to reflective the extensive renovations that have been completed. The newly renovated room looked very nice and with the king bed was spacious and very comfortable and complete with a microwave, TV and small fridge. There is ample free parking and wifi. The location is minutes away from Elora and the local casino. While there is no onsite restaurant, a variety of eating establishments are within easy walking distance. The Village Inn was a pleasant find ($) and we certainly would stay there again on a return visit to Elora.…
We were pleasantly satisfied with the comfortable, clean, accomodations. Being on the ground floor near the front desk was convenient to parking, . I would return when visiting Elora again.etc. There were nearby eating places such as a family style restaurant aptly called The Gorge. We noticed the traffic on the nearby highway in the early evening but not too noticeable later , to disrupt sleeping. The staff was courteous & friendly.
Stayed at the Village Inn for the July 27th weekend. Check in was fast. Clerk was polite. Rooms are older but very clean and well kept. Motel is 5-6 minute, very easy, walk to downtown Elora. Stayed in a first floor room that had a sliding door to outside. This was handy to access my vehicle which was parked directly at the door. Unfortunately, you can lock this door only from the inside, so it was handy for packing and unpacking the car only. There is a high step over the threshold of this door to get outside as there is no patio outside this door. Free WiFi, which worked great. Shower was a bit slow and towels are minimal, but I'm sure you can ask for extra towels (I didn't). Our room was very well cleaned and made up for for our second night. Only issue I had was that there are picnic tables in the back of the hotel. People from the room next to us went out there to smoke in the early morning (6AM) and were a bit loud. There didn't appear to be a desk clerk after 12PM. Not sure what happens if you need assistance. This is a low budget motel, but it is well kept and well run. It could use some investment into the grounds just to make them more appealing, but the corridors and rooms are good, albeit a bit older. It is a great choice for anyone looking to save a few dollars. Favourite moment: when I discovered the pop machine charges $1 per pop.…
