Combination of difficulties related to employee retention, and common covid pandemic related recovery. Furniture in room is dirty. The in-house restaurant is in a poor state of service, which includes menu struggles, and food preparation quality. Meals are undercooked on a regular basis, and handed to the customer barely warm. There are long delays from order place to food on table. Even the take-out service is equally affected because it is the same kitchen. Included in this review is a salmon undercooked. Overall the establishment is in decline, but that won't matter much because it is one of the only few options in Kuujjuaq. The rest of the region has next to nil in hospitality service, and it is sad that it is in a poor state of service.
Not much choice only 2 Hotels in Kuujjuaq .However only this one has a dinning room and serves breakfast , dinner and supper. The rates are very high but it is the same anywhere you go in the North. The manager on duty was very helpful ,i had a fall while i was fishing and in the morning I realized I had to go to the hospital to be checked and get medication.for the pain. He did not hesitate to drive me there and would not accept a tip.I was very grateful.
One of two hotels in Kuujjuaq. Well-appointed, clean and comfortable rooms adjacent to the only full-service restaurant and lounge in the village. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms have mini-fridges and microwaves, work desks and a TV. All in all, a good choice for a stay in this northern village.
Auberge Inn is everything you need in this part of the world. Hot water, clean, tidy, comfortable rooms. Free wifi (although it is very slow at peak times) and a restaurant with a menu for everyone. I have stayed here twice now across 2 years and have found it to be consistent in quality service. It is always a great oasis after camping/trekking when you are looking for a warm bed and clean sheets. The laundry room is well equipped and gives an opportunity to wash clothing and return home with clean luggage. The restaurant and bar are usually full of friendly locals as well as visitors and it is a great opportunity to learn more about the town. I will be back.
It might be the bottom of the world, but the place is really well kept, nice beds, good food and most of all a very friendly manager, always smiling and even offering you a drive around the city. A peace heaven in the North
I was in Kuujjuaq for business. I only stayed one night, but it was a pleasant stay. The rooms, while basic, were clean and comfortable. I was on the second floor, near the elevator, but did not find the room noisy at all. The food was delicious at the restaurant, and the service was great! The restaurant was busy at all meals, but the staff was always friendly and smiling. I was pleasantly surprised by the live music in the bar that night! It was a nice cozy place to have a drink and wind down before bed. I loved the decor of the room, in particular the wood ceilings.
Kuujuaq is truly special .... the Auberge is great.... my room was truly truly lovely .... the pub downstairs was a terrific place to watch the game with locals ... and the breakfast system was well organized and delicious too !!
Short stopover to catch a charter flight to Ottawa. Pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's ability to deal with all of us and deliver basic, appetizing food and beverage choices. A bit pricey, but understandable considering the cost of bringing in supplies to this location. I would eat here and / or stay here again if I needed accommodations in Kuujjuuaq.
There are only 2 hotels. This is the best. Nice room with everything you need. Restaurant is inside the hotel. Only problem was the wifi; first day it was working but the following days it was not working and they have done nothing to fix it. Hover all, it a nice hotel
Stayed here June'15 as aircrew for 1 night. Our group of 17 checked in around midnight due to unforeseen delays. The hotel staff stayed open and had a proper meal waiting for us in the dining room. The hotel and rooms are very modern and quite nice for a 'northern' hotel. My only complaint was the temperature of the rooms being quite hot. Someone had jacked up the thermostat previously and there was no way to cool the rooms down (no a/c). The small window did not provide enough airflow to cool down. Most of us had to sleep without sheets or covers just to keep body temps down. I would stay here again without reservation. It is a gem of a hotel in a place as small as kuujjuaq.
