Having travelled all the way from the Pyrenees I was desperate to find somewhere to rest. Having had no luck in Rennes I proceeded to try Avranches. It was getting late when I saw a sign for this place. So glad I did and it was refreshing to see they were still open and taking in paying guests - a... More

I don't think any guest staying in an hotel should be made to feel that people at a function in the hotel are more important. We booked this hotel expecting to be able to eat there as they advertised a Restaurant, to be told on our arrival that we couldn't because they had 3 functions on is unacceptable. They should... The hotel itself is very pleasant, clean well maintained and good value. A number of us from the same family were staying here for a funeral. Only meal taken was breakfast. We decided to take breakfast quite late and Olivier made it clear that he wanted us to finish quickly...so we left. We then wanted to book 2 taxis one... More

We stopped here on the way south and were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quite large and modern behind its more traditional exterior. We made use of the pool twice as well as enjoying a nice family meal in the restaurant, which was able to accommodate my veggie self! Our family room was spacious and clean. Would happily recommend!

Everything's ok - no complains. Good quality of stay, nice room. Only some minor issues... Little bit difficult to reach as it was at second floor with no elevator and quite hard stair... Some problems with the shower equipment needeng maintenance...

This is a wonderful restaurant in a small town between LE Mont St Michel and Rennes the border of Brittany and Normandy. Lovely fresh ingredients and masterly presentation made for a great and memorable meal. I had fine attentive service.

A great hotel that we have stopped at for 4 years in a row. Now has an indoor pool and sauna, and is still very keenly priced. Very picturesque town to stop in, and handy for the main routes if you're heading further south.

Situated in a very nice large village/small town the Hotel Le Lion d'Or has recently been re-vamped. Some of the rooms have been completed whilst some are ongoing. The rooms are not all within the main building, and are in small two storey blocks situated around an indoor swimming pool. Some the public areas still appear to be incomplete especially... More

I recommend the hotel! A very good surprise. Good accueil. A renewed building with infrastructure and a very comfortable room. Close to the main attractions (specially St. Michel). Breakfast is also very good.
