We have just stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect in every way. Gorema, the hotel Manager was so attentive attending to every guest in a very personal way. she accompanied us on a safari which was magical and she expertly spotted a leopard which was an amazing experience to watch . This was followed by afternoon tea...

We stayed for two nights during our recent your of Rajasthan. This is the only hotel in the area and it really is very different. On arrival we were given a choice of three rooms; one traditional and in the old part of the hotel- more of a suite really, one in the newer section and one by the pool....

We arrived hot, tired and without humour, we were drummed in and given all of the usual welcomes that attach to a heritage hotel. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable with lots of room to move or sit. The grounds and the pool were a delight but what stood this hotel apart was the very caring attitude of the...

We spent three nights here recently and it was the highlight of our trip to Rajasthan. The lodge is gorgeous, the management and staff are superb and the activities are wonderful. Two of our party were unwell when we arrived and Gareena the GM was told and quickly appeared at our room (at about 8pm) and ordered a doctor from...

This is an old hunting lodge, the location is stunning with great views of elephant mountain and the temple. The hotel has lots of beautiful courtyards, it looks so pretty at night as they light everywhere up.Charming, but faded charm, kept clean, but buildings are weathered. We were upgraded to a Janarya heritage room with balcony, this was a large...

Lovely relaxing place in the countryside. This is an old Havali and is charming inside, we were in the old original house which is cheaper than the more recently built house and has much more character. They will take you out into the countryside in a jeep to look for leopards, we were lucky and saw one. The food is...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 3-week holiday in India, 2 weeks in Rajasthan and 9 days in Kerala. We're fussy when it comes to hotels etc., so top marks to the Rawla in Narlai for being our favourite place to stay during our entire trip. The hotel (a converted hunting lodge, I...

This is a beautiful hotel in the countryside just 20 minutes drive from the bustle of Udaipur. An oasis of calm with large cool rooms, green courtyards and a large pool. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed a memorable evening meal out at a stepwell lit by 450 lanterns. The naturalists took us on a jeep ride to...

We arrived at this spectacular oasis hotel in the middle of the village to a very warm welcome by all the staff and in particular the general manager who made our stay particularly enjoyable. The stepwell dinner was a magical evening. Taken there by an ox drawn cart to a spectacular show of candles, oil lamps and pit fires contrary...

Before I start I want to say that this was a lower grade hotel than we had on the rest of the trip and therefore I am trying to weigh that in the balance when writing a review. Nice things- superb location. Wonderful to be in the village and stunning views of the granite rock. Pool is nice and the...

The Stepwell Dinner : Guests are taken on a magical journey from the Rawla through the village streets into the jungle before arriving at the 1100 year old “step well”. The magical setting is brought to life by dimly lit oil lamps that illuminate the setting through flickering light. The very private dinner is laid out in a traditional manner, it promises to remain unmatched experience to anything you will ever experience for a long time.
