We stayed here for two nights and took the orang utan room. Loved the decoration of the whole place! First, what was really interesting was that it was located right in front of the bridge crossing on top of the river stream. So it was like a nice welcome to get to the hotel and we enjoyed listening to the...

The accommodation was great. None of the places to stay in bukit lawang have air con but at Ecologe the big fans and breezy balconies with hammocks make that no problem. The place was attractive and a great spot to chill after day trips out. It's also surrounded by bars and restaurants along the river. The accommodation is only part...

I am very eco-minded and this was a perfect place to feel relaxed and supporting Eco tourism. I was in a cottage which was comfortable and eco friendly and extremely pleasant. There were macaques running around outside, there is the view of the Bohorok River, close to wildlife viewing treks into the Gunung Leuser National Park. A walk over the...

We stayed for two nights. Our room was very nice, especially the outdoor-bathroom. We booked 6-hours-tour through the rainforest to watch the Orang Utans and we saw 11 of them including Mina! The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the area above the restaurant was perfect for recovering and watching the monkeys. We would really like to come again!

We came here to see the orangutans, and we were not disappointed. The Eco Lodge is a wonderful place to stay for the experience. Basic rooms, with really comfortable beds - what more do you need? Woken in the morning by the local monkeys, which was amusing if a little loud, and fell asleep to the sounds of the jungle in the evening. Interesting place with all the trees and shrubs labelled. Only ate a meal here and the pizza was excellent value in lovely surroundings. However I can't understand why packets of Orangutan coffee are so expensive though when they are made in Sumatra. Cheaper in the expensive Uk supermarket Waitrose. What's eco about that?
