I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. At night, the weather is bit cooler and it's good time to hang out in the room and drink a hot beverage. This hotel is mostly fully booked. The new building is offer you a better view and the room has window for allowing you to see the sun.

Probably the best you will get in wamena, you can’t expect to get the sort of service you would for your money in other parts of the world. We stayed in the new building, the bathroom was clean, room walls and bedding stained (but what can you expect!). Breakfast is large, good

We enjoyed our stay at the Baliem Pilamo Hotel and booked a 5 nights stay via Email in a business room. Big room and good bed and hot showers !! Buffet breakfast was nice too. Mostly local food, but also bread and marmelade. We mostly enjoyed the dinner dishes : very tasty food

First time in Wamena was around end of November for work purposes. I stayed two nights in Hotel Baliem Pilamo. Based on some reviews, I proposed to the hotel to put me in the new building (Pilamo Suite) in search for better lighting. Price wise was okay as I got corporate rate.

Any indonesian contact of thus hotel? Or e mail? Can i do day tour to Valey and return here?
Contact Kosman Kogoya. He is a very good and friendly guide. And very reasonable in his pricing of such a tour. Also he is recommended in Lonely Planet. His number is +62 852 44727810. You can also contact him on Facebook via his son, Cosan Kogoya. Please send him warm regards from Family Olesen in Denmark. I hope you will have a wonderful trip. Make sure to visit the village, Kliese. It is situated in such beautiful surroundings. Best regards Suzanne😃

Any indonesian contact of thus hotel? Or e mail? Can i do day tour to Valey and return here?
Baliem Pilamo Hotel Address. Jl. Trikora Wamena, Phone. (0969.31043)/(0969.32359), Fax. (0969.31798) This I got from the net. Yes you can do a day tour to the valley. The front desk can recommend you local guides. Our group went with Wemby a local guide. He arranged for transport. We trekked both banks of of the Baliem River for almost 12-15 Km. You need to negotiate his guide fees and the cost of transport from hotel to drop & pick up points. You need to carry water and food for the 5-6 hours of trekking through villages and country side. You will need to get a visitor's permit from the police station. You and your group will need to provide 2 passport size photographs and a photostat copy of your passport (the page with your details). The police station is just about 1.5 km from the hotel on the direction towards the airport. There are security check points outside Wamena and you & those with you will need to show the visitor's permit if sought. Food in Papua is generally expensive as everything is air freighted to the island. Arm yourselves with essential dry food or pay 3-4 times more then other parts of Indonesia. The avacados, passion fruit and other local grown produce can be found in the market or make shift stalls along the road in the evening (ask locals where the street market is located). The native are the Dani people. The older men sometimes go without clothing and shoud you photograph then, they demand payment. If you should feel generous then keep lots of 1,000 rp notes to give. Even children chorus "Bayar, bayar". It means payment, payment. Almost everyone you photograph demands a fee. My reponse was to be deaf to the appeal. Keep biscuits or sweets that you can give to children. I hope you have an enjoyable holiday.

Booking by email is possible, but they don't read their email often... They have an yahoo email account, check this one on Facebook. I tried to put it here but that's not allowed.
