We arrived on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but they managed to squeeze us in. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a beautiful four poster bed (room 8). The only thing wrong with the room was that the carpet could do with replacing as could the curtains - the curtains are a must as there are...

My Wife and I have just returned from a two night stay at the Bell. The staff were very accomodating, professional and friendly. They instantly switched our original room due to my Wife not coping well with staires - thanks Luke. The room was well furnished, very comfortable and the four poster bed a delight. However, the service and comfortable...

The Bell is really a great place to eat with functional rooms to sleep if required . The food is very good with nice portions and well presented but most of all really well cooked. The service is very good as well being attentive and helpful.

The weekday 2-course lunch for £10 is astoningly good value, particularly soups or chicken liver pâté for starters. Main courses include large fishcake, cottage pie, goat's cheese, pea and broccoli risotto. Generous helpings. If you've room left puddings are £3 extra - I've never got that far. (Almost forgot to mention good homemade rolls also included.) Young staff provide warm...

My wife and I booked in for two nights B&B while visiting relatives nearby. As a former local boy I've used the Bell for over 30 years as a bar and restaurant. This was the first time I stayed overnight. I won't do it again due to the uncomfortable bed, dirty room and smelly corridors. Fortunately the first night I...

Fitted a table of eleven in at very short notice, very welcoming and accommodating for the gluten free member of our party. Food was delicious, extremely tasty and a decent size which so often doesn't go hand in hand with great quality. Would definitely recommend; great atmosphere, lovely staff and amazing food!

If I could eat here every day,,, I would! I love food and have eaten in many restaurants from London to Manchester to Parisian boats (not being arrogant just a comparison) and nowhere compares!!! The food I have eaten here is amazing and every meal I have had here blows my mind and at average prices as well! Although on...

Our Second visit, and once again The Bell at Sax did not disappoint, this time we were in room Nine, it has a sloping ceiling that whoever sleeps on the left has to stoop to get into bed, but then it had a seperate dressing/bathing area, a real quirky room! We were really comfortable in there. The food, once again,...

Stayed here after one of the wine tasting events (separate entry under the restaurant reviews). A bit extravagant as we live only 10 miles away, but it is nearly (?) as cheap as getting two taxis and has the added luxury of someone else getting your breakfast. And the breakfast was good. If I was really picky I would say...

We stayed here for 2 nights with an Amazon deal, this hotel is in a charming little town just outside of Woodbridge. The room we had (No.9) faced out to the back and was extremely quiet. Good blackout curtains and a comfortable bed, the room was quaint with a few steps up to a dressing area and bathroom with shower...
