This was our second time visiting Elephant Leisure and it just gets better every time. They have made some great improvements and modifications and we are happy for their success! We really needed to get away from our busy lives and this was the perfect breakaway for that. It's quiet except for the wind blowing through the trees and the...

In all the places we have stayed before, this is by FAR our favourite. It is so majestic, from the first moment you arrive. The cottages have a delightful warm farm style feel, it is very clean and modern. They provide you with everything....and my favourite, fresh coffee beans and a fireplace. The Jacuzzi is a highlight, enjoying a cocktail...

My husband travels for work often and when we finally found a gap for a much-needed breakaway, I was left with the task to find a spot that is not too far from Cape Town, would be relaxing for us but also fun for our 3 year old. And if that wasnt enough, we really wanted to take our Weimeraner...

We went to celebrate our anniversary, arriving and thinking this is just so hidden, a bit skeptical, at first, and as we experienced the scenery, engaging with the people, enjoying the peace, quiet and privacy, we ended up extending our stay because it was just so comfortable, neat, spacious enough for just us two and private enough to have called...

A beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil place within the mountains of Citrusdal. We arrived to a freshly cleaned chalet, with a bubbling jacuzzi, ready and waiting for us to relax in. Not only were the staff super helpful, they treated us with such respect, and friendliness. An added bonus was the Resort being Pet Friendly, with interesting walking trails to explore....

I stayed in the recently renovated cabin (4), and it was sunny and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the area for cooking and hanging out was spacious and well designed. We had a wonderful time having our meals and reading books on the front porch. We also did yoga and went for lovely hikes. I would recommend this...

The Cederberg backdrop and surrounding rock formations have been around since time began. The current owners are new, though, and taking this nature retreat to a new level. The architect-led modification of the cottages have begun - letting in more views of the mesmerizing surrounds and wildlife sightings via large glass walls without sacrificing privacy, through clever design. We slept...

A beautiful retreat nested in the mountains providing one with time to appreciate nature and take a break from the city. Friendly staff & wonderful facilities. We especially enjoyed relaxing in our personal jacuzzi while taking in the majestic rocky terrain around us.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Resort: Elephant Leisure Resort is only 8 km away from Citrusdal and with its Unique setting and wonderful views over Cederberg Mountain range and Sneeuberg conservancy which is covered in snow in winter creates a relaxing and calming atmosphere that welcomes the weary traveller. The swimming pool is fed with the spring water borehole that provides the water for the resort and conforms to European standards for mineral water. The borehole of 87m delivers 11700 litre of water at a temperature of 26 - 30 °C, all under its own natural pressure. Due to the fact that the water is forced through a calcium formation under its own pressure, there is no need for pumps or filters. By the time the water reaches the top it is sparkling clean. The resort is situated in a wide valley between beautiful mountains with an excellent opportunity to explore the mountain side with a 4km hiking trail with its weird rock formations covered in lichen and over 850 Fynbos species that attracts hundreds of bird species. Cottages: There are 10 chalets of which 4 are two bedroom (en suite) with sitting area in kitchen with wooden fireplace and 6 are one bedroom open plan units all with double doors that open onto the Terrace which is perfect spot for sundowners, to light up a braai or do Stargazing from your private Jacuzzi. In the morning you can take your breakfast outside into the country air and experience the superabundance of bird life which includes visiting Egyptian geese, blue crane, Veroux eagle and other visitors to the indigenous natural Fynbos Mountains that include sugar birds, butterflies, dragon flies and many more. There is also a Reed dam with weaver birds further up the winding gravel road. ... more   less
