My wife and I stayed at the Joy Hotel for five nights after a week diving on a liveaboard in Truk Lagoon. The hotel is centrally located adjacent to Kolonia's main street which was a plus for hairdresser and supermarket. The hotel is very well managed by the owner operator and his son Daisuke who shuttled us to and from the...

This most comfortable, clean hotel is located in the main center of activities in Kolonia. The Front Desk could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Whatever you need can be found within walking distance. Taxis are readily available, and cost $1 to $2.00 to anywhere! Rooms are quiet, cozy, comfortable, with reliable A/C, great shower/HOT water! The Housekeeping service...

The Joy Hotel is in the center of Kolonia. Someone from the hotel picked me up at the airport and showed me around the town before driving to the hotel. While not luxurious, the rooms are large and comfortable. There is no elevator. The restaurant serves very nice meals at a reasonable cost.

One of the best hotels in Pohnpei with the best food. Fresh fish and other local foods are served daily. It has basic rooms and service yet is centrally located in Kolonia and the people who work there are great and very willing to help you get around.

We didn't stay here but ate here everyday for lunch while working up the road. Our group tried many dishes and everyone was excellent. Would highly recommend. They also had a great selection of souvenirs. $30 could buy a whole bag for for the loved ones back home. Christmas ornaments were breathtaking and hand made. Prices were average. Staff super...

I have lived and worked in Pohnpei for 9 years. I have gone to the restaurant of Joy Hotel perhaps more than 50 times. And there is not a single time where I had bad food. Joy restaurant started in the 1970s and Joy lunch has become some sort of an insitution itself. Joy lunch consisted of their unique soup,...

You cannot expect a lot in Pohnpei. This is a decent place and not too expensive. The restaurent here is definitely one of the best around. Not very healthy to eat there but the food is tasty. The hotel is in the town center so every thing is in walking distance which is one reason to prefer this hotel. Admirably...

Quaint little hotel with Japanese attention to detail. Not fancy but everything worked. The location was good for business travelers as it is right off the main street on the island. The hotel manager took me to and from the airport for no charge and was helpful about telling me about how to get around. Free wifi worked well and...
