This review is actually for May 2019, just a little late. This is a really lovely b&b; we have stayed several times over many years and have never been disappointed. Clean as clean can be, affordable, great food and the loveliest people you can ever hope to meet. The owners are very accommodating and will do whatever is in their power to make sure your stay is enjoyable. This place has all the amenities and a beautiful location in the gorgeous town of Wakefield. Walking distance to many of the town’s sights and its great restaurants and entertainment establishments downtown beside the river. Of particular comfort during the Pandemic is the fact that all the suites are self-contained with private entrances and no requirement to meet anyone face to face. The ultimate in social distancing accommodations!…
Spending two nights this weekend. Were welcomed with open arms just as if we had been friends for years. Two breakfasts were top notch. Dawn made sure everything was to notch and even provide coupons for local restaurants.
My wife and I enjoyed a great night's getaway in Wakefield - the B&B is walking distance to the Blacksheep Inn, and we took in a show after dinner at Le Petit Hibou. Dawn is super friendly and makes sure your stay is great. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend !!
We had a last minute offer of babysitting and decided to visit the Nordik Spa and then stay over in Wakefield afterward. We were lucky enough to come across an opening at the Auberge and couldn't have been happier with our stay. Dawn was a welcoming host and we felt like we were visiting a friend. She advised us of restaurant closures due to bad weather, and even booked us a reservation at the Village House while we were still at the Spa. We stayed in the studio room at the back of the Auberge, it was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. We were greeted in the morning to a delicious hot breakfast and she even went the extra mile with mimosas to celebrate the new year. It's a 5 minute walk to restaurants and the famous Black Sheep Inn. Do yourself a favour, visit Wakefield and Auberge de mon petit chum, excellent value and a wonderful host.…
We Yanks drive to Canada for US Thanksgiving to meet up with family members. We chose Wakefield this year for its proximity to Gatineau. This Auberge abuts trails into the park and is walking distance to the river, pubs, and the amazing railroad turntable. Spotlessly clean rooms. Large comfy beds. Excellent hot breakfast. We enjoyed the location, the auberge, and our hostess. cheers
