We had booked a kitchenette but there was an issue with our reservation. We managed to talk to the owner/manager and he fixed things up for us right away. Our kitchenette unit was clean and comfortable. Besides the comfortable bed it had a seating area with a couch and tv, a small dining area, kitchenette and bathroom. Everything was very clean.

The continental breakfast is served in a large room with a full kitchen. Rather standard food, which is fine, and good coffee. The kitchen can be used by all guests if they want to cook or reheat a meal during the day.

The location is very convenient. It is only a block to two grocery stores, a liquor store and a pharmacy. The Legion is also close and a hardware store. The Parks Canada office is right across the street if you need information.

We would definitely stay at the Pelican Rapids Inn again.

We stay at the Pelican Inn every year when we come for the women's hockey tournament. The hotel is well-run and very clean. The rooms are a bit older with very firm beds, but it is safe, clean, and comfortable.

I have a feeling they separated us from the other guests as no one complained about our evening socialization. I thought this was a very smart move and made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Thanks Pelican Inn for always welcoming us back with warm and comfortable rooms.

My room was very clean and the beds in my room were super comfortable! The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It was nice to have a restaurant and bar in the hotel. Prices were also very reasonable! Thank you Pelican Rapids Staff!

Booked 2 kitchenette units with verbal confirmation. When arrived we were given a king room in the main hotel and a kitchenette in separate building. When questioned about the 2nd kitchenette, we were told we originally reserved 2 regular rooms, ( lessen learned get it in writing). Prior to arriving at 4:30 p.m we received 2 phone calls asking when we were arriving, we no sooner got our room keys and the girl was hoping in a cab to leave. Though the kitchenette is dated we expected that from previous reviews but could live with that, but could not live with the air conditioner being so dirty we would not run it and the stove fan so clogged with grease I felt nauseous. The bed was so soft was only able to sleep 1 person to a bed as kept rolling into each other. The public garbage was kept just inside the entrance and stunk and was full when we arrived it stayed like that for 3 days.

The Pelican Hotel is amazing with its outstanding service and comfortable beds. It's location is ideal as it's in the Center of town making it easy to access most of the communities stores and services. It's a Definite Must to stay at when in the Beautiful Community of Fort Smith, Northwest Territories.

The hotel is dated, but clean and the staff are friendly. Great wi-fi connection and flexible check in and check out times.
Restaurant has basic fare, including great Chinese. Very close to an old mission which has both scheduled tours and plenty of see-for-yourself items outside. Just two blocks from a convenience store/liquor store/department store.

My stay was quiet and comfortable. My room was well loved, so there's room for improvement. The water did not run very hot at the far end of the building but it was okay. Other then that friendly staff and better yet, quiet.
If I found myself that way again I'd stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights on work related trip. The owners were great and super accomodating. The restaurant was decent and I had zero issues with service or anything else. The room was huge, the TV had an HDMI port for my laptop which was perfect! There was also about 5 different wifi modems scattered through out the hotel to ensure a fast, efficient connection. If I ever make it back to Smith, I know where I will be staying!

I stayed here for three nights while travelling for work. The room was outdated, furniture is old and the bed is hard. But they make up for the accommodations with excellent service. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Housekeeping had the room spotless and replenished coffee and brought fresh towels everyday. They also provide a continental breakfast that was very convenient. There is also a restaurant that serves a full breakfast for an extra charge. The food at the restaurant is quite good. I also liked that the hall to the rooms is locked at night and you need a room key to get near the rooms. I appreciated this extra bit of safety. The hotel has everything going for it but the rooms need to be updated. The website has photos of renovated rooms so maybe they are in the process of renovating. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will return.

You'd have to call them. That place isn't very good. I don't know how much or if they allow pets but I highly recommend Wood Buffalo Inn.
