Lothar and the staff are very friendly, and greeted us upon arrival. Food is great, beautiful location, perfect place for an isolated getaway. Lothar was always extremely helpful, any problems/ questions we had we could just text or call Lothar and he would help us immediately. The walks and trails are very beautiful. Make sure your boat driver has gas and life jackets as they aren’t very careful on the sea.
This place is paradise. I was a it bummed when i got to Capurgana and saw loads of people, so crowded and a bit stressing, however I was happily surprised when we got to bahia Lodge. Everything is perfect and taken care of, the green, the beautiful bungalows just a few feet away from the ocean, la pool and the food! Lothar and all the staff are amazing and so helpful. They helped my boyfriend stage the perfect scenery to propose to me and it was amazing! Without a doubt this is the best place to stay in if your visiting the area! Thank you Lothar and all the staff for an amazing stay and experience!
It felt as though the owners had given up on this place. We arrived by boat and were taken to our very basic cabin. There was no one to greet us and no information at all about the place. We sat round for an hour or so before a women, who was seemingly running the place, arrived with some fresh juice. The location is entirely isolated from anywhere and feels rather spooky. Having identified that the swimming pool was disused, the beach littered with plastic and there was no obvious access to food or drink - we eventually walked to Capurgana which takes an hour and is downright dangerous. It involves scrambling up and down very steep hills and climbing across rocks. More than £60 per night plus another £20 to get there and back by boat (5mins) is ridiculous.
We stayed longer than planned and very much enjoyed immersing us in this nature resort. From the first minute to the last of our stay, Lothar looked after us with great dedication. Kids loved snorkeling at the reefs around the resort. Food was delicious. We made a couple of boat trips to nearby islands and beaches which Lothar organized. Thank you Bahia Lodge for having us, we truly enjoyed it.
Bahía Lodge is located about 5 minutes boat ride from Capurganá. The location exceptional: the cabins are spaced out on lush grounds and located on a sandy beach. There is plenty of space and no other hotels or hostels on the beach and it is the perfect place to enjoy nature at it's best. The beach of El Aguate is less than 5 minutes walk away and can be easily reached by crossing through a lush forest, where a group of Titís (small monkeys) is living. I loved the breakfast and dinners: The female chef prepared delicious and varied Colombian food. Every meal was well seasoned and prepared with seasonal and fresh ingredients. The owner was extremely kind, looking well after his guests, offering suggestions and ideas for day trips and arranged boat transport when needed. So glad, I stayed here and not in the village Capurganá!…
