We stayed here four nights in June and enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Authentic thermal baths and view were the reasons we came here in the first place, yet Bagni Vecchi offers much more. It's a small boutique hotel with old charm and modern...More

This is a historic site of ancient thermal waters and baths. Currently all but one of the outdoor bathing tubs or pools are blighted by builders and their tracked equipment. You are expected to share access to the other tub with the builders. Bearing in...More
The restaurant of the Hotel Bagni Vecchi is a charming enough rustic space serving quite reasonable mountain cuisine with the nice touch of self service complimentary digestifs in the bar after the meal.

Nearest international airport to Bormio is MXP so my answer applies not just to travelers arriving from the UK. You can take a train from Milan to Ttirano (around 2.5 hours from Milan central, longer from MXP) and change there to either a bus (45-60 min) or taxi (33 min). We did just that last June. Bit long but I think Bagni Vecchi worth the trouble. Another option, longer but rewarding is flying to ZRH and taking the Bernina Express from Switzerland arriving again at Tirano.
