We spent a week at the campground and it was lovely. The sites are well thought out with choices of oceanfront, open field or forested. Great shower/wash house and fire wood available. Close to the village, ferry dock, coffee shop, etc. but a very quiet location, ideal for kids or anyone.
Can't wait to return.

Owner was quick to respond and quite flexible. Lakefront sites had beautiful views but could have used a little more privacy from neighbours. Free firewood was unavailable at the time. Also, I was unaware that the main road passed right behind the campsite so it felt a little cramped, spacewise, and occassional car traffic.

No doubt about it Harmony Shores campground is in a world-class location on the shores of Malcolm Island overlooking the stunning Nimpkish Valley and Blackfish Sound. The campgrounds appear spacious and the road and grounds are quiet and peaceful. Facilities are spartan and the toilets and showers are not in a good state but Sointula is a bastion of charming rusticness so we're happy to see past this and we've spent many wonderful weeks on the island.

We thought we try staying at Harmony Shores. When we arrived we found there is no reception and no-one on the campsite. The only person connecting to the campsite speaks extremely poor English and cannot be contacted directly. Bear in mind that ferries arrive in Sointula every 3 hours from Vancouver Island, when we got to the site after nearly 6 hours of driving we and about 20 other people who had just got off the ferry had to wait an hour for the owner to bother turning up and when they did turn up they had booked five different groups onto the same pitch (which, incidentally was already occupied) and didn't seem to have a clue who anyone was or where they should be staying. She then asked us to go through her records and figure out who was who. At this point we had had enough and so left to go and stay at one of our more familiar venues, equally charming and rustic but prepared for visitors who have had to travel a long way to be there! Under better management this place could be amazing but for now I'll sadly have to give it a rare one-star.

I don’t know how anyone could give less than 5 stars for this place. They are so flexible... we checked in the day we booked and never saw anyone, just showed up, setup and on checkout deposited the money in an envelope slot. So easy! What other campground has real showers without coins, a kitchen with coffee pots and kettles, dish soap and cutting boards etc... books for kids and even towels if you forgot one?! This place is so generous, for 25 dollars a night... ON A GORGEOUS, PEACEFUL BEACH. Thank you from a single mama with her babe for making it convenient, affordable and luxurious. We had a wonderful time and can’t imagine camping anywhere else!

The finish settlement of Sointula offers lots of entertainment to the people who are willing to unplug and get back to nature.

Harmony shores offers showers, firewood (while there is no fire ban in place) and endless views. I highly recommend one of the waterfront sites (as long as you don’t require power). I have been going back to this spot for 7 years with a group of friends and we have always been lucky enough to see another spectacular sight. If you are looking for an escape from the city then this is the place to go.

Harmony Shores has some beautiful campsites along the water. They get the sun well into the evening. Being beside the ocean was wonderful. The washrooms were always clean and the showers were free with the cost of the site. It was a nice relatively flat bike ride along the seaside from the camp into Sontula.

What a great place to camp, right on the beach, with western exposure for sunny afternoons and a view across the water to Port McNeill. There are eight sites on the water, and across the quiet road are the main campsites, some with power. We enjoyed all the abundant waterfowl, and a lone sea lion, and a fire every night with the free dry firewood. There's even a wheelbarrow to transport it to your campsite. The camp staff checks in each day, and was quite friendly and helpful. The showers are hot and free, and there are horses in the pasture next door. No matter where you camp, there is ocean view, and only the occasional car on the road, making it very quiet. When we camped there on the September long weekend, there was only one other family. It's only 3 km away from the little main town of Sointula, where there is a great coffee shop for excellent americanos, and a bakery that is delectable. We will definitely be back!

Beautifully located on Malcolm Island, BC, with eight sites right on the beach and several more on the other side of the very quiet road. Free firewood, free hot showers, flush toilets, all for a very good price. Tuula the owner is a very nice Finnish lady that even has towels for you to use in the showers.
The sunsets over Cormorant channel are stunningly beautiful, as is the star filled night sky with no light pollution.

We had a wonderful experience at Harmony Shores. The campsites are well laid out and provide a good amount of space and privacy. The washrooms are clean and showers are hot! Tuula even provides clean cloth towels for the washroom and dishwashing area. We can’t wait to come back next year!
