We booked this location in July, 2013, for our first stay in Italy on our 10th anniversary vacation, based on a recommendation by friends who stayed there 10 years ago. It was wonderful. We stayed for 5 nights, using this as a base to explore Siena, Florence, and Chianti. Barbara, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. She helped us...

What a peaceful, beautiful and idyllic place! If you're looking to relax and unwind there is no place better! It's so rustic and yet you feel as if you're right at home. We expected it to be closer to Siena but the 15-20 min drive wasn't too bad. I would have no hesitation to book here again! The owner is...

We spent 6 nights here and loved the place very much. It is handily situated less than half an hour from wonderful Siena. Though we are around 70 owner Barbara put us humorously in the "Lovers Room" with a large four poster bed. The farmhouse is full of interesting furniture and old agricultural implements + her own pictures and ceramics....

Located in a peaceful and picturesque corner south of Siena, "Il Colombaio" is great value for your money if you enjoy authenticity, proximity with nature, beautiful views, and history. Our family of four stayed four nights using this as a base to visit Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano and found it quite practical. The B&B is walking distance from a...

We loved the extra thick rock walls that convey so much solidity and serenity. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The region is fantastic. The situation (in the countryside but close enough to Sienna) is ideal to discover both Tuscan cities and Tuscan countryside.

Il Colombaio di Barbara was our base on a tour around Tuscany. Cousy and clean rooms, simple and nice breakfast. That's all we needed since we spent 5 days there (my wife & I and a couple of friends) visiting many towns looking for culture, wine and food (and we got it). So close to Siena and also with easy...

I was hooked on the muesli and fresh yogurt. Breakfast was perfect, and the window in the dining room was lovely. It was a beautiful, rustic place. Very private and quiet. I would want to live here if I could move to Italy.

“We stayed in the Rose Room, which is right next to where the dog, Scooby slept. One night he barked and kept us away for a few hours. I would stay in one of the rooms on the other side, next time.”
