We booked a four day getaway with our small pop up camper at Murphy's Campground. We were very happy with amenities. The washrooms were cleaned on a regular basis and the one family at a time was observed as per covid guidelines.
The owners were very friendly, I took a boat ride of the 100 Wild Islands that was offered by the owners. The price was reasonable and was a great way to spend a couple of hours while my partner successfully fished for mackerel on the dock which we had for supper.
The oceanfront campground only has 51 lots which is a nice size and makes for a friendly atmosphere. We loved it there. We will return.
Thank you for a great getaway

We had a great weekend at Murphys with our 28' Airstream TT . Small but beautiful campground overall. Grounds very well kept and very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Sites are a mix, most are a decent size and irregular in layout. Some will be best suited to smaller rigs (18-25 foot maybe) and there are some that will easily accommodate a big rig (there was a 43' fifth wheel beside us and a Class A motorhome). We had site 27, it had 30 amp electric and water, firepit and picnic table. There was access to the beach down an embankment right behind the site. The site was a little narrow but the long depth made up for that. I had no difficulty backing into the site.

Most sites have water views, and none are more than a few steps from the cove. This is great location for kayaking; you can easily launch right from the cove, and there are several outstanding beaches near here with swimming, surfing and hiking trails.

Do be aware that the power / water post may not be on the drivers side so bring an appropriate extension cord and extra hose for your rig. Also the dump station is on the curb side, you'll want at least a 10 foot hose to reach it. There is open wifi and the connection speed was acceptable, certainly not bad compared to what you usually get in campgrounds.

Overall we had a great visit and we would certainly camp here again.

We stayed at Murphy's Camping on the Ocean to explore some of the 100 wild islands by kayak. Location and water access was excellent, the staff were helpful and Brian Murphy was great at telling folks about the area and to provide boat tours.
It was fun to watch kids be kids, catching crabs and swimming off the wharf.
The communal evening campfire brought people together to swap camping stories and some music while still being respectful to 'social distance".
Definitely will be back again. Highly recommend the camping/unserviced sites if you want privacy.

Great place to camp right on the ocean with friendly staff. Communal bonfire each evening and coffee provided in the morning. They really need some washroom facilities near the tenting sites, it's a long walk to the existing washrooms. It would also be nice to have an unobstructed view of the ocean from the tenting sites, just need a few trees/brush removed.

Pros: nice location and very friendly staff.

Cons:To much money for what you get. washrooms and showers out dated, not a level site in the campground, dump station just a pipe in the ground as you leave down the road and on the wrong side, there was a deck by site 35 out over the water that had no balusters on it that a child could fall though (not to code), Office building had siding falling off of it, and lots of small things wrong with the place for 50.00 a night.

I had a wonderful stay in my boler from July 14th to 17th to be able to take the Coastal Adventure Borgles Island kayak Tour July 16th. Borgles is one of the 100 Wild Islands you will see off this coast. Murphy's also have a boat tour to take you around to see the some of the Islands as well. It's a beautiful place. Washroom were clean and staff friendly and accommodating. It is a small campground and I love it.

Just a really miserable experience mostly caused by the wet weather. We'd been assigned site 20 but when we arrived (in the rain) we were told the site wasn't ready, some muddy ruts needed to be fixed first so we left for an hour or so. However, nothing was improved so we parked our RV the best we could given the mud hole we were given. The sites are grassy, no gravel, even the driveway in is short on gravel. Oddly, the site number was posted on a post facing away from the driveway so had to get out of the cab and walk around in the long, wet grass in search of #20. The toilets and showers are in an extremely rustic shack thrown together by an amateur. Paying 62.10 for this 2-way, muddy site seems very expensive.

Amazing location, 100 kms from halifax.
The family that run it are very sweet.
Showers are clean and free to use. They do have campfires at night by the water and complimentary coffee in the morning. I kind of took advantage of that lol.
Great way to escape the diversity of halifax/Dartmouth. It was like taking a trip to Canada or a trip back in time. People were kind, it was sort of shocking to hear so many people speaking English. I could talk to people and they were friendly.
No one chased me down the street or threw rocks at me. It was really strange to be in such a calm, relaxing spot where I could just unwind and worry about nothing.
If you want to get even more isolated you can arrange to be dropped off on an island offshore for as long as you want. They have small kayaks, a canoe and a row boat for rent as well as boat tours.
Will be back

Friendly staff and relaxing place! Beautiful views- saw tons of squirrels and an eagle. Heard a hermit thrush at morning and night. Sites are small but everything is close by. Swimming in the ocean was wonderful. Warmer water than water around Halifax. Clean washrooms. Only improvements would be more water taps. Thanks for tolerating our loud old dog! We would have done the boat tour if we didn’t have our dog. Note: no mussel boils due to Covid. We had a great time at Taylor Head, which is about 20 min away.

Amazing campground. So beautiful and perfect fit for us. Had live music one night. evening group campfires. Would rate it a 10 plus. Staff very friendly. Can do a tour of the islands or have them make you fresh lobster and baked bread.
