Brought my mum here for a night for her birthday and we didn't want to leave! Amazing cabin in the woods - quiet, peaceful and private! But it's the service that really sets this place apart. The owners have gone above and beyond to make guests comfortable and it shows in every r

The Logden Lodge is second to none, our family trully enjoyed being “in the woods” with comfort and in a well made, accomodating cabin. Paul and Annelies were great hosts and provided us with guidance that allowed us to enjoy our vacation. Every day after the great activities tha

Dear Josef Hans, Let us simply return the favour and say that you & your family were second to none as well. With very few exceptions we're very blessed with the guests visiting our place. But from time to time we feel we're more catering to our friends than to our guests and you are most certainly among them. We much enjoyed your company and already look forward seeing you all here again one day! Until then, with our warmest regards, Paul & Annelies

Rustic, not luxurious, nice, neat, dusty, don’t turn on overhead fan, dusty! Emailed for two couples, got a price, they called day before to switch us to different cabin. Was told I didn’t put on booking for four people, so $80 extra. Their booking asks how many people per room,

Dear Zoogri, We apologize that your experience with us was less than fully satisfactory. Our guest experiences, without exception, always met the highest rating and we are sorry to hear we failed in your case to keep that up. We genuinely strive to be as transparent as we can about our facilities as well as our rates as we have nothing to hide about either. When we reached out to you prior to your arrival to double-check the size of your party we tried to explain that our cabins are stand-alone units which can not be rented out by separate bedroom to different guests. We will try and see if this can be made even clearer in our online booking system. We hope you agree we did not inform but rather asked if you were willing to switch to a different cabin. After you were satisfied that the alternative cabin came with the exact same amenities, floor-plan, size and rate you indicated you were ok with that and asked for a discount which we agreed to. We're just not sure how we could have dealt with this differently to your satisfaction. Last but not least, the dusty ceiling fan - thank you for pointing that out, we will get right to it! All in all, our Lodge and forested terrain may not be the most suitable accommodation for your travel needs and we're glad to hear you found a more befitting place to stay at your next destination. We do hope you enjoyed our beautiful Kootenays and wish you well. With kind regards, Paul & Annelies

Superb self catering cabins in a forest south of Nelson. Rustic finishes, spacious cabin, quiet setting. Well appointed kitchen and decor is made up of owners’ collection acquired from world travels. Sitting on the porch was a delight, facing into the trees. Solid Wifi in cabin.

How far away are the cabins from each other? We're from Australia and are really into wildlife. What is the chance of seeing animals like Bears, Moose, etc.?
Abaynham hello. Many thanks for your interest in our Lodge and your question. The cabins stand approximately 50 m apart, far enough to offer complete privacy but close enough to walk when booked together for a larger group. As for the wildlife, there is definitely plenty out here, one just always need a bit of luck to get to encounter some. We do keep track of our wildlife spotting on our property; last summer we had 17 bear visits ( incl. one grizzly), and regular sightings of whitetail deer, coyotes and the occasional mule deer. Elk and Moose are usually to be seen only at higher elevation but with some luck you may spot one during a hike. Lastly we were three times lucky enough to have a pack of wolves in our yard, a rare event. Hope this igives some indication, just let us know if there is anything else we can be of help with. With best regards, Paul
