This is our 3rd stay at Mariner's Loft. We have stayed in a different room each time and found each unit fantastic. They are spacious, modern, well equipped and comfortable. You cannot beat the location overlooking the marina and within walking distance to many stores, restaurants and attractions. To set the record straight, there has never been a requirement to launder bed linens prior to leaving per another incorrect review. The house rules are clearly posted and they only ask that you strip the beds prior to departure. The smoke free environment is very much appreciated. We have always found the owners to be extremely responsive and concerned about the quality of their guests' stay. If you want to treat yourself to a safe and wonderful experience, this is the place to come.

Reserved the main floor 2-bedroom suite. We are 3 seniors. The first thing was the microwave not working. After several calls to the manager owner etc. a new microwave was delivered 5 hours later. That did not help well to reheat our take out food. There was a complaint that our relative was smoking on the balcony. He had to go and smoke in the parking lot. You accept dogs but not a respectable smoker on the outdoor only? Strange. Then there was a pungent smell in early next morning. It was diesel from the dump property next door. Had to close all windows quickly. Then our older relative mentioned how would we clean all the bedding before we left. I was absolutely adamant that even if the property requires that garbage, recycling and dishwasher be all cleaned before leaving, I was not ready to clean the bedding as well. Lights burned in bathroom, ice cubes old in freezer.. and how is this place respecting covid19 protocol? There were no indication whatsoever about désinfectant in the premise. And then, the gates would not open when leaving the parking lot. Check in late and booted out early. They say they need the time to clean the place? Check the bathroom and kitchen closely... Is this an hotel? No it is not. An absentee owner perhaps? You clean the place before you leave. Have you ever heard of such a room rental agreement for this price? Another guest was also stuck waiting for the gates to open. Solution: walk out the gate and punch code to open the gates. I would never stay there again. I found much better classy accommodation at relais & chateaux 10 minutes away. And they do not require that you clean the rooms before you leave.

We stayed in Mariner's Loft the August long weekend in a pet friendly unit on the second floor. The Pros: the unit was large and spacious with an amazing view from the patio over Ganges Harbor. Furniture and decor is modern and tasteful. The master bedroom and bathroom are large. However the second bedroom is quite small and the window did not open. There is no air conditioning but a nice breeze flows through from the deck. The location is excellent as it is within a very short walk to all the attractions of downtown Ganges . These units are not cheap and there were some things missing that would have been expected at this price. For example they need to put a oven tray or pan in the kitchen. One dish cloth and kitchen towel were not really enough for a four-day visit. There is no dish rack and no scrubbing brush and no Kleenex in the bathrooms. These are small details but perhaps having the owner stay in the unit for a few days might help them realize what needs to be included. One thing that people should be aware of is that the road below is very busy all day and well into the evening and sitting out on the patio can be quite noisy. Excellent quality bathroom soap, shampoo, conditioner.

We booked a pet friendly suite and were told there would be dog dishes provided as well as a dog bed. Neither were provided. The electrical devices (lamps in particular) were in need of repair. The switches were bent and looked unsafe so we just plugged them in as needed. One of the kitchen chairs had a broken leg; luckily no one used it before we discovered it. The most disappointing thing about our suite (#102, 2 bdrm) was the general cleanliness of the suite. We found 2 burnt remains of party sparklers on the deck and some metallic glitter, ribbon and a small ring party glitter that gave us the indication there had been an engagement party or some type of party at the suite in the past. We looked at the guest book and the last entry was in March 2020 and the room looked like it had not been occupied since. The general deck area, while a beautiful place to sit outside and take in the view, was unkempt, covered in tree debris and webs and really needed a good sweeping or washing. Because we have 2 dogs, we always bring our own vacuum when we travel and it came in handy for the inside before we checked out. We did not however clean up the outside deck. The area location was indeed beautiful and central to all downtown amenities but given the amount we paid and the extra costs for having our dogs with us, it could have been much better. We had no hand sanitizers or other Covid related items. Sanitizer was offered in the information, but not in our suite. We thought this was a hotel. It appears it is a VRBO operation, so the only contact people are housekeeping staff. Not sure if we would return to this place again. It would have to improve.

We have just spent three wonderful nights at Mariner's Loft. The location is fantastic - walking distance to so many areas in Ganges and particularly to stores and restaurants. The units are beautifully furnished - well built, well stocked, very clean and have nice views of the ocean and marina. The staff are attentive and monitor the quality of the accommodations closely. Included are all the necessities for cooking, BBQ'ing and vacationing in comfort. Kayley and Tanya are fantastic to deal with. Ample parking and very secure. We liked it so much we are returning for a few more days later in the summer.
