I took my elderly mother on a trip to Arran last summer and we stayed here. The room was lovely and spacious and we also spent some time in the large well-appointed living room where we could watch the television, and talk to other guests about what to do and where to go. We were made to feel exceedingly welcome....

Beautiful setting - views from lounge/dining room spectacular. Elegantly and comfortably furnished. Tranquil atmosphere. Warm welcome and friendly care throughout our visit. Breakfast carefully prepared with a good choice. Price very reasonable. Thank you Douglas and Piet for a lovely experience - we hope to be back!

We spend one night, after a tough bycicle journey form Brodick and that place seem heaven to us. Very welcoming and charming. Machrie is a remote wild beach area, with stunning sunsets. You will enjoy the place

This B & B is in Machrie which is just a small collection of houses + a farm or two and a golf course with a tea room as far as we could see. The property sits in a slightly elevated position with lovely views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre. The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful and can...

A fab start to our "island hopping" holiday. A real gem of a B & B, everything superb - our room was well presented, as was the entire accommodation, with fantastic views from the lounge/dining area out to Kintyre. Douglas gave a warm welcome on arrival and was the perfect host (wife Pietre was also lovely) his breakfasts were wonderful...

Everything is as wonderful as the pictures shows! Even before we arrived, I had a really great feeling about this place. Douglas was warm and friendly in our...

This was my first time on Arran and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. Although the location is a little off the beaten track if you are relying on buses, it is well positioned for some remarkable sea views. Additionally, there is also a small burial mound located nearby which offers an even better sea vista for the...

From the word go we were made to feel extremely welcome and were offered tea, coffee or whatever we liked. Douglas is a wonderful host with valuable knowledge of Arran, including where to visit and where to eat. His delicious breakfasts start the day off in fine style and he always offers to fill a flask for you. The view...
