The location of Mount Farm B & B is excellent, so peaceful and secluded but just 7 mins drive from Holt, which has some interesting individual shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Easy access to beaches and local villages and Holkham House and gardens, well worth a visit. The bedroom and bathroom are tastefully furnished, comfortable with attractive views across the surrounding farmland. There is a comfortable sitting area inside and out. A glass of bubbly on arrival was a welcoming touch. We would not hesitate to return when next in area. Thank you Adam.

We enjoyed a wonderful Mid Week at Mount Farm Barn close to Holt in North Norfolk. Adam greeted us with a glass of Bubbly on our arrival and was very helpful with guidance on Restaurants as well as places to go.
Breakfasts weren't provided due to the current crisis but Adam adjusted the price and we were happy to enjoy a breakfast at one of the many Cafes in nearby Holt.
The room was everything that we required, spacious, very comfortable large bed, super bathroom tastefully decorated throughout.
We ate out at The Hunnybell and the Wiveton Bell as well as a great Bistro in Sheringham called Marmalades.
All in all a 5 Star stay in North Norfolk .

Pros
• Great location to explore the lovely Norfolk beaches and coastal villages / towns.
• Lots of local walks and good pubs nearby.
• Great hosts who look after you well.
• If you book both rooms, you have a very large living area all to yourself with a lounge, TV and large kitchen table.
• Adam the owner comes in every day to tidy-up, replenish bathroom supplies, wash your mugs and top-up your fridges with water, orange juice, tea/coffee and Maltesers.

Cons
• This B&B does not provide breakfast – due to Covid! But breakfast is readily available in many other locations in Holt where you can eat inside.
• It’s not sure if it’s a B&B (without the second B) or a holiday cottage (without a kitchen).
• It was tricky getting hold of them (7 out of 8 emails unanswered).

I would still recommend this lovely place to stay – especially if you’re taking both rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at The Mount Farm B&B, the host was accommodating, the rooms were well furnished, clean and comfortable and the location very peaceful.
We were disappointed that the breakfasts, suspended due to Covid, were still not available even in October but as the breakfast area was small and would be shared by two families that was a choice that the owner had made, hopefully it will revert back to a B&B soon. Anyway, there is no shortage of quality pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby so you need never go hungry!
This area is a great base for exploring the towns and villages of North Norfolk with the market town of Holt only 3 miles away providing a great shopping experience.

I was surprised by my new fiance with a last minute weekend away and it was made all the more special buy staying at mount farm. Adam was very understanding and flexible with our check in due to not being able to travel there until my partner had finished work on the Friday and greeted us with a glass of champagne each to start our short holiday off. The building is beautyful and a lovely mixture of old and new and has been converted really well. It was clean, smelled lovely and made you feel special. There is plenty of room and places to put things and feel at home. There is a fridge stocked with some complimentary goodies and a selection of teas and coffee. The WiFi came in handy as there was little phone reception or data and we were also able to use our now TV stick using TV in the room and the WiFi so we could watch films and listen to music. The bed is super comfortable and we would like to get the same one at home it was that comfy! The room has a lovely skylight window, the blind on it is a blackout blind and works very well as the room was lovely and dark in the morning still and we were surprised by beautyful sunshine and blue skies and a lovely view across the fields to the tree line in the distance. There was lots of birds singing but no other noise..it was wonderfuly peaceful. After spending the day in Cromer it was lovely to come back to our room and chill out for a while before heading out to a local pub for dinner. Adam had also provided a print out of local cafes and pubs that are good for breakfast or dinner which was helpful. We had a lovely surprise waiting on the stairs upto our room when we got back a small bottle of champagne to share with glasses and a little note hoping we were having a lovely time and with info about our checkout the next day which was ment to be at 10 but noted that they would be happy if we left by 11 I'd we would like, which for me was lovely as it ment we had just a little longer to lay in bed together in the morning with the skylight open listening to the birds whilst drinking our tea and coffee. Check out was easy with a quick knock on the door next door to drop the keys off to Adam and say good bye. Before we left we walked round the front of the property to have a look at the old gravestones in the grave yard and have a closer look at the old what looks like a church tower as the site used to be an old monestry. We were very lucky to have the whole place to ourselves this weekend and will are definitely wanting to come back with friends and family and renting out both rooms so we have it all to ourselves then too.

The owner couldn't have been more accomodating. We were even offered a glass of bubbly when we arrived. Excellent location. Holt is an easy 5 minute drive to Holt. Very peaceful and extremely clean. The mini fridge in the room is also well stocked with drinks and snacks (and very kindly replenished daily) Lots of wildlife. I spent an hour taking photos from my bedroom skylight. To name but a few: red (?) deer, red-legged partridge, rabbits & squirrels. There is also the constant wake up call of young buzzards in the surrounding trees waiting to be fed which was lovely to hear.

I would definitely recommend a stay here and there is plenty of room for a family to stay comfortably.

Thank you for a lovely stay, Adam.

Tom

We stayed at Mount Farm in August 2020 as a family of 4. We booked out both rooms so that we had exclusivity. The accommodation is situated perfectly so that it is within easy reach of Cromer to the south and Wells to the North. Both no more than 30 min away. Holt is just a 5 minute drive. The accommodation itself was spotlessly clean in the common area and bedrooms. The common area with dining table and sofas was spacious as were the rooms. Adam the owners was very hospitable and called us the day before to let us know we could check in early as they had no guests the day before. On arrival he offered us a glass of champagne but as we were going straight out he had it ready for our return after a

Mount Farm ticks all the boxes. First of all the location is peaceful and with an abundance of wildlife including the barn owl who can often be seen flying across the Meadow. There are many beautiful walks surrounding the property. As for the accommodation itself I cannot fault it. The bedroom and en suite bathroom are both luxurious. The owner of this B and B goes out of his way to welcome you. I didn't want to leave and will definitely visit this heavenly place again.

A very pleasant stay in a quiet area. The room was very nice and also clean. There was a fridge with fresh milk for tea and coffee which was a nice bonus. No breakfast at the moment because of CV19 but a small reduction was offered which covered some of the cost of sourcing our own breakfast. There are lots of options in Holt for breakfast.

Not sure. Try the proprietor. We found it a LOVELY location but poor value for money.

We like the Wiveton Bell - just outside Blakeney, the Dun Cow at Salthouse and the Hunnybell in Hunworth just down our lane - you will find links on our website or give us a call and we can talk through other ideas.

How close is Mount Farm to good quality restaurants
Answer from David M
Melton Constable, United Kingdom
We like eating at the Hunnybell - 1 1/2 miles down our lane, the Wiveton Bell about 15 mins by car and the Dun Cow at Salthouse about 20 minutes away. Really good food at Morston Hall again about 20 mins away.
